I had one of these and it took awhile. They are very popular. These are made at the creamery you buy them from. They make the shells at night. They freeze them in the morning. 10's of these are made. They are limited.
The employees that make them absolutely DO NOT understand the hype. I went in a couple times and disappointedly walked away empty handed. They tried to explain to me these are no different than a waffle cone with the oreo ice cream.
At first, I did not listen. There had to be something to it. Why did everyone want one so badly if it's just a waffle cone!? Well, it is different, but it's not. I finally got one and the hype is NOT justified.
It is pretty much the waffle cone. I owe all the employees that had to deal with my disappointment an apology. A big one because they were all right. It's the same. It's also not. It's a taco and that's pretty cool.
I'll admit. Eating ice cream like it's a taco is pretty cool. Flavor-wise, these are no different. It tastes the same. The texture is the same. The experience is only slightly different. Instead of coming out the bottom
the ice cream drips out both sides. You also get a bite of the waffle cone with each bite of ice cream which IMHO is better. That's the biggest difference is waffle cone with each bite. There's more waffle.
