Writing daily and consistently is not the only way that can improve your writing.
That is exactly what happens. I have always written, and was always told that I did it well. All things English and writing are my day job. However, it was only thirty years later, when I started blogging and writing to my own script, I really learned to write and began honing my skills.
It's a discipline and if you don't use it you lose it.
