Don't Waste Your Time Counting Calories

Unless you do like numbers!

Some people like that sort of thing to keep them focused and/or organized!

There is no right path to reach a goal, especially on a weight-loss journey, as long as you keep on doing it and if it is worth it long-term.

I hate numbers though lol

I did try counting calories in the past, I used some phone apps and websites. If you like to try it, I believe MyFitnessPal was the best among the ones that I used.

Anyway, eating with mindfulness would be the best approach long term...Eating freely without any strings attached...Just enjoy giving fuel to your body...the right fuel!

Constantly tracking every bite can create anxiety around eating and potentially lead to disordered eating patterns. I had already a toxic relationship with food and counting it didn't do any good to me.

Focusing solely on calories overlooks the crucial role of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients in our diet. It's like going for the "light" or "sugar-free" products as a better choice when some of them do more harm than just normal fresh food.

What to Focus on Instead

1. Quality of Food

Prioritize whole, unprocessed foods that are rich in nutrients. These foods will naturally help you feel more satisfied and energized.

2. Listen to Your Body

Pay attention to hunger and fullness cues. Your body is remarkably good at telling you when it needs fuel and when it's had enough.

3. Balance and Variety

Aim for a balanced diet with a variety of foods from all food groups. This ensures you're getting a wide range of nutrients.

Instead of spending your time and energy meticulously counting calories, focus on nourishing your body with wholesome foods and developing a healthy relationship with eating. Remember, health is about so much more than just a number on a scale or a calorie counter.

Remember: Your worth is not determined by the number of calories you consume. Prioritize overall health and well-being over strict numerical goals.

Not that much secrets: as you say, unprocessed foods, focus on protein quantity and quality, and lots of veggies and fruit to go with it. And exercise, if the goal is to lose weight. One thing often overlooked is that your muscle mass size matters in your metabolic rate: the more mass you have, the better glicemic control you have, and the more calories you burn at rest! 😉

Building muscle is actually my goal at the moment besides losing weight..all those things food wise are also key for better health 💪
