Lmao yeah. It looks basically like the same thing at Hivepredict. Except the one I built lets people create markets using HIVE/HBD and supports all custom Hive Engine tokens, which allows communities to run their own markets. I also have markets that auto resolve for price and outcome for numerous sports. This appears to have something similar but only for prices.
This one also appears to make you use ACE instead of the approach I took where people are paid immediately in the designated market token (no deposit/withdrawal mechanism).
There are quite a lot of similarities, it's uncanny. Even right down to the use of a containerised post for the market. For Hivepredict I use Snaps by Peakd and let people comment which comments on the thread and Peakd has native support for market data embedding inside of the snap, you so get the market details without having to go to the site.
I will say where things differ is this appears to have adopted a shares approach instead of what I did which is a simple bet based approach instead of an order book. I originally was going to do Polymarket/Kalshi style shares approach, but without the liquidity and user numbers I don't think that approach works and taking a parimutuel approach where people put their stake into a pool (which has a time mechanic to prevent market sniping, etc) seems to work better.
Sadly Hive doesn't really have the active user numbers, liquidity and engagement right now. But just using a Hive Engine token might be different because it's more of an in-game type currency type of deal where my approach is more straightforward and transactional (with everything also done on the chain too).
So there are similarities in an idea they "stole" from you, that you "stole" from someone else, that was "stolen" from someone else that was "stolen" from what ever the first prediction market was ?
🤯
Both r polymarket's hive versions. 'Similar' word and 'stolen' word are different. Some people just love to imagine the worse case intentions.
Please point out where I or @beggars used the word stolen? Beggars has first comer advantage and it's a fair point.
It just felt like a pointless question. They are both prediction markets. They are similar. Duh.
You can't steal ideas, which is the reason you can't patent an idea. I don't think PredictIt stole anything either. The more apps on Hive the merrier. Fundamentally it works different to what I built. And I haven't made a secret my motivation was wanting a Polymarket or Kalshi on Hive. I see a lot of cool products outside of Hive that I want here, Polymarket is one of them.
If you checked their site this was under development for the past ~3+ months under a page called “Arcade” with coming soon
Though I don’t think it really matters who builds what. More the merrier. At the end of the day these platforms will need to fight for attention beyond hive as there isn’t much of a userbase left (especially for financial tools)
LeoStrategy uses CLOB which is very different than the LP approach
People just love to complain 😴 we should rather appreciate and encourage. Competition is a blessing 🙌.
Hey @khaleelkazi, @beggars is a solo dev and you know how hard it is to work on hive with no witness node and DHF support.
While I appreciate both, I do fear that in a small market... Inleo with it's userbase can easily tap the market while hive-predict will barely survive. There r some key differences between both but both are also attempts of polymarket on hive.
I hope everyone who is reading this would understand that hive-predict also needs our community support so solo devs can also survive in harsh market conditions.
This is built by leostrategy (a separate team) but a cooperative team to the LEO team/ecosystem
There’s also no DHF funding nor witness funding for them. They’re building a self-sustaining business model that will run on its own success — get users or die
The top 20 witnesses + DHF funded projects are not shipping like @beggars is. I would wish to see more people like him getting funding and less of the current ones who don’t deliver much but get all the economics
I’ve effectively given up on the DHF + witnesses. It’s a rigged game with a handful of people (really 1 major person and a few other whales helping) decide who/what gets funded. Hive will die under this current regime. I hope the regime changes before that happens because I think this chain should succeed
Now that you mention it, my current 2026 model smartphone has a lot of similarities with all phones launched from 2010 and on.
Hmmmmmm 🧐 🤔 🤯
Read my reply to khal, u will understand where I am coming from.
