An interested person asks about others and leaves a good impression because people enjoy talking about themselves. An interested person is genuinely curious about others' work and learns a lot about how things function.
An interested person connects with more people and—since opportunities often come through connections—is more likely to catch a lucky break.
In general, interested people learn more and tend to be well-liked, and over time it's hard to keep down someone who is both knowledgeable and well-liked
