morning reds at the port

morning reds at the port

Good Morning and have a great day
thanks again for all the prayers, our Daughter in Law is doing fairly well, they had hoped to wake her up and get her off the ventilator yesterday, but now her ammonia levels are high so they want to try and stabilize those, so kept her on the ventilator for another night

Lets hope today they have settled ;)

Hard to believe when I post this it will be only a few days to go till Christmas and 11 days left of the year, is it me or as we get older do the years seem to go by so much quicker?

Now those that follow me will know that I love my early morning walks and the morning blues, blue is without a doubt my favorite color, maybe that's a factor in why I find walks by the water relaxing and calming even at the port which is where the photos I wil share today are taken.

But as much as I love the blues, when the sun comes up and there is more light, other colors capture my eye and at the port its often reds that I notice, not saying a majority of the boats are red, as I think the blues are more predominant on the boats but the reds pop out when looking around.

So for todays post at the port I am focusing on shots where there are reds popping out in view

Starting with this shot probably taken near the end of a morning walk as its close to where I park at the port

Now I got curious about what I said earlier about the blues being most popular for the fishing boats, and went to visit the all knowing google to do some research and found out....

The most prevalent colors for commercial fishing boats are often practical choices like white, light gray, navy blue, and green, with white and light colors preferred for heat reflection and hiding scuffs, while dark blues and greens are popular for hiding marine growth and looking traditional, but can absorb heat. Functionality, maintenance, and visibility heavily influence color choice, though some colors like green and white lights are also favored for attracting fish.

Now this next shot there is plenty of blues but for me its the reds of the boats that first catches ones attention

And that’s all folks

The reason for the colors on the boats is interesting. I didn't know that.
The photos are excellent! I hope your daughter-in-law recovers soon!

How are you, my dear friend @tattoodjay?

I'm glad to hear your daughter-in-law's health is improving. I hope they can wake her up today and remove her from the ventilator.

What a beautiful place, and these boats are gorgeous!

Excellent shots!

Thanks yesterday things improved, they removed the vent and took her off the meds to keep her sedated, when we left last evening she was starting to wake up so hopefully today is a better day

You're absolutely right, Mr. @tattoodjay, this year has flown by. As you say, it's hard to believe we're almost at the end of it.

I'm a huge fan of boats, and these ones I see are colorful and beautiful.

Wishing your daughter-in-law a speedy recovery.

What gorgeous photos!

That's good news about your daughter-in-law's health. I hope she continues to improve.

Blue is also my favorite color. I love looking at the sea; it makes me feel very calm, and your photos are great. The topic of the colors of the ba is very interesting. I would never have looked into it, but you always learn something new.

Oh wow I get distracted a bit and I miss the health crisis you and the family are dealing with. Adding to the wishes of a complete recovery and a new year of returning to normal.

Another wonderful walk along the pier while I am landlocked and snowed in. Only colour here is white!

I have to be honest the pier walk was back when it was warmer, were not snowed in but to cold for me to be out for my morning walks

Nice shots, it's always fun to see those fishing boats. True working ships that brave the oceans regularly. Interesting that so few are orange or red, but it makes sense.

How is your daughter in law holding up?
