Gold Dust Weevil

I find a hard time finding the complete information about this beautiful weevil. And this is the first time I foudn this big, colorful and beautiful weevil. The size of this weevil is quite big than most of the other species that I usually find. That makes this weevil even more interesting.

I only found the information about the genus of this weevil which is Hypomeces is a tropical genus of true weevil family.. and also there some of the short information that I get, suggested the name of this species is Gold Dust Weevil.

This guy was kind enough to jump into my hand and run through the tip of my T-shirt sleeves. And lucky for the the color of my T-shirt was blue, which make the contrast of this subject and the background is so nice and well separated.

Even when it move to my hand that was not covered with the T-shirt, it still gives the good contrast between the subject fo this weevil and the background color.

And then when I though that I had enough shots of this weevil on my arm, then I decided to realease it into the plant. Then after that I still decided to get a few more shot of this weevil. :)
