TTT - Yeah I Like You

Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

I like to share some music that I am listening to each week and this week we listen to 3 tunes that I have heard from the great comedy series Trigger Happy TV. This was a TV show that aired in the 90s playing various gags and these were some of the tunes that accompanied those gags that I like.

But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.

The first tune is an 80s classic that I didn't really pay much attention to even when I watched the show, but I love the 80s and think this is a great tune when you are in that 80s mood. I like 80s synth-wave the most, but could slot this one in.

This one is by Men Without Hats, Pop Goes The World and it has everything that you would like from a catchy 80s hit. Great 80s hair dos and funny playful dancing. The snowman looks pretty scary in the video though.

This tune was used in the Trigger Happy TV series quite often when they would zoom out from doing a funny gag, such as 1000th customer to a public toilet or some such stunt.

Pop Goes The World

The next tune is a classic 90s hit which I really love and is a little known gem. It is by Eels, an American rock band and was apparently their only major hit. Checking into them abit further they do have some decent other tracks too that are worth listening to.

Of them, probably Last Stop - This Town and Susan's House are my favorites. But from Trigger Happy TV, Novacaine was played alot after many of the gags and sticks in my memory alot.

I am surprised the band were not bigger than they were. The song has some brilliant lyrics which you just love to hear in a song. There is also a great documentary called Parallel Lives that shows the lead singer Mark on his journey to reunite with his father. I haven't watched it yet, but am looking forward to checking it out.

Novocaine For The Soul

On to the last song for today and the raison d'etre for todays title. I absolutely love this tune and video. The Dandy Warhols are a 90s band but this tune was released in 2000 and became very popular at the time.

You might remember the tune after it was featured in a vodafone advert and became even more well known. Currently I have seen the band are still touring and you can go and see them live.

I have played through some of their other tunes but there were no real stand out tunes that I found, but maybe need to have another dig. I really love this tune though and it is my favorite of the week.

Bohemian Like You

Nice selection of songs. I remember that song by the Eels very well. Like yous said, it is the only one of theirs that I know! I know Men Without Hats, but I think "safety dance" got played here more than anything by them. I also agree with you about being a sucker for 80's synth!

Thanks man. I had to look up safety dance, competely forgot about that one. Remeber it very well too and was more popular if I remember. Cool that you like the 80s synth too! Somehow it is very catchy! lol

I can't remember hearing this from Trigger Happy. That seems a long time ago now. Was a great short-lived show.

It was quite some time ago now, but the gags seem to have held the test of time for me. I still like to watch a few shows now and again.

I'd only heard the saftey dance before, so this is only the second tune I've heard fomr men without hats - I'll be honest and say its not one of the best from the 80s !
And I never knew that that song was done by the Dandy Warhols - I've never know who it was, but I wouldnt have guessed them ! Nice pic.

I have to agree with you there, the bar is high in the 80s. Thanks for checking them out.

So many groups over the 80s and 90s came and went that we missed out unless played on radio or in shops.

Recall hearing Eels, enjoyed listening to The Dandy Warhols here for the first time. New music to go back on once again from an era when we were raising our sons.

That is so true, life was so busy back then and we could have missed quite a few good bands. It is great that we can now go back and find some hidden gems.

The Dandy Warhols stole my all heart. I am grooving on it. I am sure that I will listen to it again. I am thinking that although it's old song but still there are so many bold things which are actually eye catching.

Man Trigger Happy TV was deadly, some brilliant brilliant gags and loads of laugh out loud moments! It's a while ago now since that show was out, like you I still like to watch the occasional ep.

It was a classic show, some of those gags are still funny. Glad you like it too.
