🔥 HIVE como Nombre de Marca no Funciona 👀
La última publicación de @demotruk es polémica, aunque muchos lo sabemos desde hace tiempo, incluso desde el primer día, pero nos hicimos los locos y seguimos. El nombre de HIVE es pésimo como marca.
Los inicios de esta blockchain no fueron tranquilos como otras. HIVE nació desde la guerra, desde una dura batalla y en ese momento el nombre no era lo más importante. No tengo los detalles de cómo se creó, ya que no fue una elección muy descentralizada. Lo decidieron algunas "partes interesadas" de forma rápida y sin publicarlo. Era obvio hacerlo de esa manera; no harías público el cambio para alertar a tu enemigo y que pudiera sabotear tus planes. Lo que se hizo y cómo se hizo fue pensado en lo mejor para el ecosistema.
Sin embargo sabemos que tenemos un nombre genérico, NADA original. Eso no es ventaja, es una gran desventaja. Algunos quieren disminuir esto, pero no tienen argumentos sólidos para hacerlo. Pueden que tengan argumentos de que ahora no convenga cambiar de nombre, pero no los tienen para defender "HIVE" como un buen nombre.
Demotruk ha publicado datos muy interesantes y que dejan parte estadística a lo que suponíamos como un nombre que crea desventaja. Ahora analizando esos datos, vemos que la realidad es que el nombre, no solo no ayuda, sino que perjudica. Ha sido una barrera para la adopción.
Personalmente he tenido que corregir a personas en vivo y personalmente, cuando doy una charla de Hive y lo buscan, me preguntan si es ese. Lo primero que les sale es otro Hive. Me ha pasado que se han registrado en ese Hive.
El primer resultado que me sale es hive.com. También me sale el precio de las acciones de HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. Esto genera demasiada confusión.
Hay uno que el logo es muy similar.
Cambiar el Nombre.
Las implicaciones de cambiar el logo no son menores. Es algo para analizar con cuidado. Sin embargo de realizar el cambio, este es el mejor momento cuando pasamos por mínimos históricos.
El trabajo puede ser difícil y traer complicaciones. Sin embargo pudiera obtener resultados favorables.
Un rebranding podría atraer público y darnos una nueva oportunidad de ser conocidos. Un cambio de nombre saldría más económico en el largo plazo, que luchar para conquistar el SEO.
Claro que también hay que analizar esto en frío ¿Son los resultados en Google tan importantes para plantearnos un cambio de esta envergadura? Según el post de Demotruk, sí. Es posible que haga falta unos cuantos análisis más.
Habría que:
Hablar con los exchanges y coordinar el HF con ellos. Si algunos se quedan atrás o no quieren, sería una gran pérdida.
Toda la merch sería inservible. Habría que hacer un gasto importante en nueva merch.
Todo el contenido también quedaría inservible. Miles de publicaciones hablando de Hive, ahora confundirían más.
Fotos con el logo de Hive también serían un problema. Todos los eventos realizados, dejarían de tener peso en "la marca".
Incluso diría que la marca personal de muchos de nosotros, que nos hemos dedicado al onboarding se vería afectada. Yo por ejemplo, estoy guardado en el teléfono de muchos como "Daniel Hive".
Lo bueno sería que llamaríamos la atención y esto pudiera generar un PUMP. Sin embargo si no se acompaña con una estrategia clara, volveríamos al mismo punto. En el largo plazo habríamos corregido uno de nuestros mayores defectos.

Hice un comentario en el discord de Hive y se "armó el peo" jajajajjaa. Yo no participé porque estar traduciendo quita mucho tiempo y no es fluido. Sin embargo le pedí a la IA que me haga un resumen:

La Espiral de Muerte: Hay una preocupación real por la pérdida constante de usuarios y el mercado bajista prolongado (más de 4 años).

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars

También siento que cambiar el nombre de Hive sería positivo, podría posicionar mejor a la web.
Por otra parte, hay algunas cosas a considerar, no solo cuando buscas "hive" te encuentras con una web que no tiene nada que ver con el proyecto, sino que también usar varias dApps también tiende a confundir a los nuevos usuarios.
No esta mal el uso de dApps porque cada una tiene una interfaz diferente, funciones diferentes, lo que te permite elegir como usuario. Sin embargo para el que empieza si suele ser complejo.
Y esto es algo a tener en cuenta, sobre todo hoy en día donde todos quieren que las cosas sucedan por arte de magia. Tan fácil como usar la IA.
Con respecto a esto último tengo mis sentimientos encontrados, porque desearía que las personas se preocuparán más por conocer e investigar, pero bueno, es lo que hay en la sociedad actual.
Has dicho un buen punto. Por eso cuando invitamos a Hive, debemos mostrar una sola dapp. Es bueno para la descentralización tener varias. Ha habido casos donde alguna no funciona, está actualizando, etc y vas a otra y listo. Lo que sí deberíamos tener es un hive.blog más robusto, más atractivo, moderno. Porque cuando hagamos onboarding lo hagamos ahí y que cada dapp se encargue de su incorporación. Porque le estamos trabajando de gratis a empresas particulares.
Mucha gente me dice, "ajá pero cómo entro a Hive, dónde está Hive, cuál es su web" y decirle hive.io les confunde, "aquí no veo contenido" 😅
