My birthday in 2021 #tbt / Mi cumpleaños en el 2021 (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Mi mamá me estaba preguntando sobre qué quería para mi cumpleaños que es en abril, me dejo pensando y me acordé de mi cumpleaños del 2021. Fue el primer cumpleaños post pandemia y justo trabajaba como bioanalista en una laboratorio que atendía pacientes de COVID 19 que se encontraban en UCI, así que no hice realmente mucho ni me reuní con más nadie que no fuera quienes viven conmigo: mi mamá y mi hermano.

Para esa oportunidad hice una lista de cosas que quería de regalo. Había visto una bandeja de desayuno de regalo de un local y recuerdo haberla enviado a todos para que “sutilmente” la vieran. Dure días jugando y diciendo que esperaba mi desayuno especial de cumpleaños. Aunque lo dije mucho, realmente no esperaba nada, soy mala para pedir cosas. Aun así me sorprendieron con mi desayuno sorpresa, que tenía tequeños, mini pastelitos, pizza y una malteada de chocolate y con una bandeja con un globo de Luna y chucherias. Fue una muy bonita sorpresa y me encantó el detalle. Estaba muy feliz y creo que en las fotos se nota.

Lo otro que pedí fue una torta de luna y estrellas. Mi tia y mi prima son las encargadas de eso, siempre preguntan de que la quiero y esta vez dije que de lunas y estrellas, tipo noche estrellada. Le envié unas referencias a mi prima y me sorprendieron con esta torta preciosa que me encantó. Por dentro era de chocolate y las estrellas y lunas también eran comestibles. Me dio cosita picarla, porque era demasiado bonita, pero seamos honestos igual queríamos torta.

A pesar de que éramos pocos, los detalles que tuvieron conmigo fueron geniales y me senti muy querida. Todavía no se que quiero para este cumpleaños, pero si de algo estoy segura es que quiero sentirme así de querida y en paz.

I hope you are well and happy. My mom was asking me about what I wanted for my birthday which is in April, got me thinking and I remembered my birthday in 2021. It was the first post pandemic birthday and I was just working as a bioanalyst in a lab that was taking care of COVID 19 patients who were in ICU, so I didn't really do much or meet with anyone other than those who live with me: my mom and my brother.

For that opportunity I made a list of things I wanted as gifts. I had seen a gift breakfast tray from a local and remember sending it to everyone to “subtly” see. I spent days playing around and saying I was expecting my special birthday breakfast. Although I said it a lot, I didn't really expect anything, I'm bad at asking for things. They still surprised me with my surprise breakfast, which had tequeños, mini cupcakes, pizza and a chocolate milkshake and a tray with a Luna balloon and candy. It was a very nice surprise and I loved the detail. I was very happy and I think it shows in the pictures.

The other thing I asked for was a moon and stars cake. My aunt and my cousin are in charge of that, they always ask what I want and this time I said moons and stars, starry night type. I sent some references to my cousin and they surprised me with this beautiful cake that I loved. The inside was chocolate and the stars and moons were also edible. I was a little bit scared to bite into it, because it was too pretty, but let's be honest, we still wanted cake.

Even though there were only a few of us, the details they had for me were great and I felt very loved. I still don't know what I want for this birthday, but if there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that I want to feel loved and at peace.
