Welcome to my Starbits Every Night, this is a routine post I make on a night time when I play Rising Star Game. Right now, we have Lauryn Hill as our theme, an iconic female singer and rapper in late 90s. This is my 6th post for this artist and the last one for her edition. Next week I am going to pick a new artist, a new theme, as usual. I would like to thank to all Giveaway Participant who kept following on our theme. MUSIC OF THE DAY

Here we are, at the end of this week where we have this Can't Take My Eyes Off You as our Music of The Day. How I started to like her songs was from this single, because I did not like the original song then someone (Lauryn Hill) covered this old song and somehow you got interested by hearing it. This was the first Lauryn Hill I heard on Radio and then I started to dig more about her works and became her fan.

The funny thing about this single was its never made for commercial purpose. It was recorded for Conspiracy Theory music as the original sound track and somehow ended up on the radio then became a major hit. This single was a bonus track on her Album due to it.

From all of her single, three songs I like most and hear it often are Kiling Me softly, Turn Your lights Down Low, and Can't Take My Eyes Of You. Funny isn't it, all are remakes and covers. I have an ex who kept saying anyone could do as she did, remake and cover any old songs. Many younger people think the same too, and I feel bad about it.

From her sole Album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, She was nominated ten times for the 1999 Grammy Awards, making her the first woman to ever be nominated that many times in one year. She won:

2. Best R&B Song
3. Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
4. Best R&B Album categories.
5. Album of the year 1999

She set a new record in the industry as she became the first woman to win five Grammy's in one year. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is considered one of the best album because it is on many lists ranking of greates album ever.

Anyway some of you might be a very young generation who even do not know The Fugees and Lauryn Hill before. Were they the best on 1998-1999? I dared to say not quite so, she made a big impact that time but those years there were many new artists, new hits, new genre and some comeback from the older days.

If I had to pick the most iconic one from those years, in general not based on my taste, I would choose CHER - BELIEVE as the greatest single from those years. The song and the album was dedicated to her former husband Sonny Bono, who just died months before the release. This was the first song that used Autotune and got the peak of all charts... and I do not know how and why, somehow nowadays this song is still popular as the worldwide GAY anthem 😁

Personally I prefer buying cards directly over buying packs. because it gives more precision on stats building. This leaves zero waste,for example sometime we get good cards from packs but we do not need those.
