God granted us the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ death, repentance, faith and confession, God gave us forgiveness as a gift through Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for sin, which is the foundation for receiving forgiveness, we are also called to extend forgiveness to other people as God has forgiven them.
God's forgiveness must be accepted through faith and repentance, for you to receive forgiveness you must confess your sins to God, confession means that you are admitting that you are wrong and also seeking for forgiveness, and is not about only earning forgiveness, but receiving God's grace.

The benefit of God's forgiveness is that when he forgive, he blots out, and he will forget that you sinned, he will not remember it again, effectively wiping the slate clean, these free believers from the condemnation and debt of their sins.
To forgive is the role of every believers, the bible tells us to forgive one another, taking example from the forgiveness you have received from God.
Apply the principle in every area of your life, is an essential part of the christian life and is not just one act thing, God's forgiveness inspires a heart that readily forgives others.
