Inclusive building | AMIGOS CON CALOR HUMANO

Greetings friends of Hive and the community Architecture+Design. There is a building that I want you to know, it is the headquarters of the ASSOCIATION FRIENDS WITH HUMAN HEAT. There are several headquarters in Colombia but the one I know is in Medellin, in the Prado neighborhood exactly in Carrera 50C # 59-87, in the La Candelaria neighborhood. This association provides a comprehensive and free service for people who are vulnerable for different reasons and among this group of people are those who have some kind of disability. The care is offered in a three-story building with a design and environment suitable for the people who receive the service and for the workers of the association. I think that in institutions like these, it is important to give importance to the infrastructure and also to the decoration of the place so that the people who go there feel comfortable and with a feeling of good attention, it is like feeling that they care about their wellbeing from the moment they enter, that is very good. Personally I have been there a few times because my younger brother was there for a while receiving care and he is very nervous but the atmosphere gave him peace even though in the waiting room he saw some pretty sad cases. But talking about the building, it is an adequate architectural work to provide service with human warmth to people with special needs in the Department of Antioquia.

Saludos amigos de Hive y de la comunidad Architecture+Design. Hay un edificio que quiero que conozcan, se trata de la sede de la ASOCIACION AMIGOS CON CALOR HUMANO. Hay varias sedes en el Colombia pero la que conozco está en Medellín, en el barrio Prado exactamente en la Carrera 50C # 59-87, en la comuna La Candelaria. Esta asociación presta un servicio integral y gratuito para personas vulnerables por distintas causas y entre ese grupo de personas están las que tienen algún tipo de discapacidad. La atención se ofrece en un edificio de tres plantas con un diseño y ambiente adecuado para las personas que reciben el servicio y para los trabajadores de la asociación. Pienso que en instituciones como estas hay que dar importancia a la infraestructura y también a la decoración del lugar para que las personas que van se sientan comodas y con una sensación de buena atención, es como sentir que se preocupan por su bienestar desde que entran, eso está muy bien. En lo personal yo he ido algunas veces porque mi hermano menor estuvo ahí un tiempo recibiendo atención y el es muy nervioso pero el ambiente le daba paz a pesar que en la sala de espera vió unos casos bastante tristes. Pero hablando del edificio es una obra arquitectónica adecuada para prestar servicio con calor humano a personas con necesidades especiales en el Departamento de Antioquia.

I remember that the first time we went we had trouble finding the building even though it has its name on the front, AMIGOS CON CALOR HUMANO (FRIENDS WITH HUMAN HEAT). If anyone here needs to go see that the main facade of the building stands out for the blue color that has the concrete structure that protects the interior stairs, also the name of the association is blue and the facade of the building is according to its function, I guess you agree that there is no doubt that it is an institutional building.

Recuerdo que la primera vez que fuimos nos costó encontrar el edificio a pesar que tiene su nombre al frente, AMIGOS CON CALOR HUMANO. Hay que tener como referencia la estación del metro Prado y la Clínica CES que está cerquita del edificio de la asociación humanitaria. Si alguien aquí necesita ir vean que la fachada principal del edificio resalta por el color azul que tiene la estructura de concreto que resguarda las escaleras interiores, también el nombre de la asociación está de color azul y la fachada del edificio es acorde a su función, me imagino que están de acuerdo que no hay duda que se nota que es un edificio institucional.

The main facade has several elements made with various materials and I like this but more than liking it for aesthetics what I see is the function of the combination used between the concrete, the metallic louvers from the ground to the third floor and the glass of the windows. Being inside the building, one feels a lesser impact of negative sensations that are annoying in the environment. In the case of the louvers are like a large metal louver that cover from the front door to the third level of the building and also the side of the structure surrounding the interior staircase, what I mean is that these louvers have a function that influences the good service because it allows the entry of air and natural light and also prevents rain and dust from entering. The large windows also allow natural lighting in a building that seems very enclosed but when you enter you can feel the pleasant atmosphere thanks to the friendly and inclusive design of the building.

La fachada principal tiene varios elementos hechos con varios materiales y esto me gusta pero más que gustarme por estética lo que veo es la función de la combinación usada entre el concreto, las rejillas metálicas louvers desde el suelo hasta la tercera planta y el cristal de los ventanales. Al estar en el interior del edificio uno siente un menor impacto de sensaciones negativas que son molestas en el medio ambiente. En el caso de las rejillas louvers son como una gran persiana metálica que cubren desde la puerta principal hasta el tercer nivel del edificio y también el lateral de la estructura que rodea la escalera interior, lo que quiero decir es que estas rejillas tienen una función que influye en el buen servicio porque permite la entrada de aire y de luz natural y también impide que entre la lluvia y el polvo. Las ventanas amplias también permiten iluminación natural en un edificio que parece muy encerrado pero la entrar se siente el ambiente agradable gracias al diseño amable e inclusivo del edificio.

Everything is well distributed from the reception area, there are stairs and ramps for people with reduced mobility, there are eating areas, green and illuminated areas, for me it is very important to take advantage of the benefits of vegetation and natural light.

Al entrar a la asociación de amigos con calor humano vemos que su interior es un espacio muy amplio más de lo que parece por fuera. Todo está bien distribuido desde el área de recepción, hay escaleras y rampas para las personas con movilidad reducida, hay áreas para comer, áreas verdes e iluminadas, para mi es muy importante aprovechar los beneficios de la vegetación y luz natural.

There are several offices to provide specialized care, waiting rooms with plenty of comfortable chairs, restroom areas including one designed for the comfort of people with disabilities, and signs on the walls indicating the services.

Hay varios consultorios para dar atenciones especializadas, hay salas de espera con suficientes sillas cómodas, Areas de baños que incluye uno diseñado para la comodidad de las personas con dicapacidad, hay letreros en las paredes que señalan los servicios.
