War - Never Been So Much Fun

Hello Gods Unchained Fans,

This week I have made a change and started playing with a new War deck. I took a break from the Anubians and tried a new fresh War deck that I think is quite aggro.

This got me to remembering the classic Amiga game Cannon Fodder and the great soundtrack from the game called War - Never Been So Much Fun.

And it really has been a lot of fun playing this war deck for a change, very aggro and you can get your games done quite quickly and it is good fun with the fast attack which is what I like.

The deck is ridiculously cheap at just $1,78 and I even threw in a couple of gold cards into the mix. There are no real stand out cards as they are all cheap enough to buy too.

But check out that win ratio! I have 57,1%, but overall it has 66,2% from over 4k matches. This deck could have legs.

Today's Battle - War - Never Been So Much Fun

In this week's battle I present my new War deck.

1 Mana

My opponent starts with a Bombfly. This is perfect for my strategy. I remove with Vanguard Axewoman. I play Skeletal Hop.

2 Mana

My opponent plays Bag of Cats. A spawning relic. I play my gold Strix Conscript.

3 Mana

My lovely Strix gets taken out with a spell. I play my relic and buff Skeletal Hop.

4 Mana

Skeletal Hop is removed and out comes Fickle Cambion who can be quite deadly if left alone.I play Archangel Bruiser, but first my relic to offer him protection.

5 Mana

Archangel Bruiser is destroyed with a spell. I bring out Lykaios Adherent who clears the board nicely. My relic attack protects him and I control the board now.

5.5 Mana

My opponent plays Impfestation and floods the board with Imps. I buff Lykaios Adherent like mad and reduce his god mana to just 4.. he is looking vulnerable.

6 Mana

My opponent sees sense and gives up!

Summary

The War deck is great for some quick games and battling through your daily ranked battles. The aggro is for me the most fun to play so it is a nice change from the Anubians.

My weekend ranking was very bad with only 5 wins and far off from getting a MJ Rare pack. I think I played all 18 rounds, but don't remember now for sure.

Since my last update, I have now reached level 234(+4) and have 107(+15) shadow cards and 451(+1) meteorite cards. My collection value has increased and is worth 3783 (3466) GODS tokens and value in fiat of $590 ($586).

O.O that buff at the end for the win. and the deal 1 damage to all kinda clutch there cuz opponent mostly had 1 health creatures. :3 i played 2 games today and then i just didn't feel like anymore ;x. GU really needs to step it up!!!!!

LOL, yeah i think IRL , probably not so much fun! Yeah I'm not sure about the ranking of people ahead, but quite a few players have given up recently sadly.

Definitely a solid deck for your current rank, and you should be able to climb with it for sure. As you climb, you'll start to notice that your opponent's removal will get better. Death's destroy mechanics in particular will cause grief. If you check the full game history of the deck, you'll see the people using it are <1100 MMR.

However, the deck has great synergy and looks fun! Report back on how it does in gold ranks!

Thanks, it is a good fun deck to play. It climbs the ranks nicely but then the removals get too much for me at the higher levels, especially if I dont have control by mana 5. Will give another update after this weekends matches.

very aggro and you can get your games done quite quickly

This is exactly the reason why I am again building a new war deck. War is just so much fun to play, especially aggro.

Yeah, I am loving War still :)

Some of the magic buffs can be frustrating though :D
