Faustina's expectations and life's surprises
Faustina Ife’s story is one that I admire so much , not because it is dramatic or filled with fantasy, but because it feels real, painfully real. It is a story of expectations, sacrifice, and discovering that sometimes dreams don’t die; they simply wait for the right time to return.
Aguzie Faustina ife started having her expectations when she was 12 years old, she wanted to be a doctor, treat sick people. When she saw a sick woman one day with her children begging on the road she felt weak and sad and wanted to make a difference, to be able to genuinely help people even when they cannot afford the treatment.
She had it as a dream but wrote exams just to see if she could can make her dream come true but failed many times. But she wasn't about to give up, she still got up to make sure she makes her expectations come true.
She was determined to be the person she dreams of. She wanted to make her mom proud, let her know she was going to be the best doctor ever.
When she became a 14 year old girl she lost her sweet mom, which kind of discouraged her at first.
But she believed that wherever her parents were they would still want her to pursue her dreams. So she didn't let her grief stop her from making my expectations comes true.
So she wasn't only dreaming, she was working towards her dreams.
Everyday it was hard for her, and coupled with the guilt feeling she had about not being able to save her mom, if she had hurried up and became a doctor earlier maybe she could have saved her mom.
But somehow Faustina became distracted, by grief, by pain and she lost hope in her own self, so she backed off from her dream of becoming a doctor and decided to become a computer expert. She wrote the exams to become a computer expert but then again she failed. This left her broken , but after encouragement from friends and the rest of her family members, she decided to write her real exams again and thankfully she passed with a very good score.
One day she got a news that the school was offering free scholarship so she decided to try it and to her surprise she passed and she was so happy about it that she left the hall and came out and knelt down and thank God for everything he did for her and for keeping her alive to see this day. She was so proud that after many attempts of writing exams she finally aced this one.
But life had one more surprise.
The school called her back and told her that instead of studying computer science, she had been selected to study medicine. She stood there in disbelief. The dream she had abandoned — the dream she believed had died with her mother — had found its way back to her.
She didn’t shout. She didn’t jump. She simply stood still and let the tears come. She wished her mother were there, but somehow, she felt she was.
University life wasn’t easy. Lux Mundi University was strict and disciplined. Students often broke rules, avoided classes, and skipped assignments. Her roommate went out partying almost every night, living the campus life many dream of. Faustina could have joined them. She could have blended in and disappeared into distraction and rebellion.
But she remembered why she was there.
She followed every rule. She submitted every assignment. She respected the system even when others complained. She changed her profile picture when told to, even though many students argued that the school did not buy their phones.
She chose focus over noise.
Lux Mundi University became more than just a school, it became a symbol of answered prayers, another reminder that her journey, though messy and delayed, was still guided.
Now when Faustina looks back, she realizes something powerful: expectations aren’t just dreams , they are motivators. Sometimes, reality breaks us before it builds us. Sometimes, detours lead us back to where we were always meant to be.

Wow, what a touching piece 😊.
It's inspiring to see how determined she was despite all. This really shows how life can delay and at the same time lead us back the right path.
It can only be delayed, not denied—Destiny.
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful piece.
