Flood Of Unity
Hitesh Cloudhary
I watched as the cool breeze was emerging from different sides of life making a deep and cool fresh air with the spirit of fine aroma that followed. It's a town full of different kinds of people, and even people from different tribes. It's a town that welcomes strangers and shelters them, undermining the loss they would have incurred. We never mind taking rent from them, instead just need unity and want to keep the legacy of what our forefathers had laid.
My community is not a wicked community that would send people away even in times of trouble. This is the major reason people always love dwelling in my community. They have seen the strong wind of happiness and oneness burning in the mind of the citizens and the dwellers. No one would leave each other alone in times of distress.
Four years ago, a storm of water visited my community, as we are very close to the swamp. It's a little upland when compared to those in the riverine areas. It has been announced that there was going to be a flood, which the government was supposed to prepare upfront but kept mute. When it came, it was just like a joke. It started for just one night, and everyone close to the swampy area began to take off from their homes. They took all the belongings that seemed valuable along with them to where they did not know. Most of them ran to their family members living in the same community but upland.
We could not watch them suffer, instead harbor them even though we were only having little.
Those from my neighboring community who were so close to the sea took off to our community. They were moving Helter skelter not knowing where to put their heads until my community king had to summon a meeting. The whole members had to concur with the king and accepted all those who ran out of their community to dwell in our community. We were also facing similar issues, but ours was just a minor when compared to them.
We shared all we had, despite the little foodstuffs. The flood came so strongly in my community, taking over some other parts apart from the initial part. Our farmlands were overtaken and this caused us to lose so many farm products. The cassava we planted got spoiled. Although, most of us had uprooted some of our farm products after hearing the news of the flood.
It was just as if the entire of us were born from the same parents, as unity became part of us. There was a strong aroma of unity, not even talking of the wind of oneness. We were solidly in harmony and serious happiness despite all we had lost. The hearts of those from the neighboring community got shattered as they began to think of their homes. The king called them together and spoke to them. He told them not to worry and that everything would come back to normal again. He talked to them as a father, even though he was not as old as most of them. Courage and strength came back to their faces as they were left with refreshing happiness.
After a month, the flood subsided and everyone went in unity just to rebuild the lost community. All hands were on deck just to ensure the total brought together of all the members of that community. We helped them to clean up their community and also could not stop, instead wrote a letter to the state government for help. It was not a month before our plea was answered.
From that moment, I have seen the true power behind unity. Unity is the way out in any community at all costs.
We later gathered some little left over, which we sent to the affected community. Now we are one, not just as before, but as a unifying two communities.
If every part of the world is like this, we wouldn't have any issue or war among us. See the way your Community took responsibility and accepted the stranded community with openness and not expecting anything in return. God bless your community.
The other Community will live to remember the good deed
The best is to make impact and help those in need.
Wow,I really enjoy the read. This pointing to how accommodation and utility is very important in our present world. The love your community shared solved problem
Thanks for sharing.
We should always be our brothers keepers no matter what.
