I had been trying to stake my LEO on LeoDex, but it couldn't, and I got the information that I needed a few Arb.ETH to carry out this action. So a few days ago, I had a conversation with @caspermoeller89, who assisted me and after transferring my small ETH worth $1.9 from trust wallet to my Keystore wallet, it wasn't enough to transfer to Arb.ETH because of the gas fees.

Greece During the Outbreak of World War I: A Complex Path to Neutrality and Internal Conflict
Nearly a century ago, Greece found itself at a critical crossroads during the tumultuous years leading up to and including the First World War. At this point, Greece remained officially neutral, yet the internal and external tensions were high, creating a dangerous environment for its citizens. Historian Indi Naydel guides us through this complex period, shedding light on Greece’s political landscape, national ambitions, and involvement in regional conflicts.
To understand Greece’s situation during the early 20th century, we must revisit its recent history. Greece emerged as a sovereign nation less than 100 years prior, after centuries under Ottoman rule. The Greek War of Independence began in 1821, culminating a decade later with the recognition of Greece's independence. However, the newly formed state was fragile, devastated by war, and burdened with economic hardship.
Importantly, the Greek diaspora—ethnic Greeks living outside the borders of the Greek state—outnumbered those within by a ratio of 4:1. This diaspora accumulated considerable wealth and became the driving force behind Greece’s external policy, known as the "Megali Idea." This nationalistic aspiration aimed for the unification of all territories historically inhabited by Greeks—such as Crete, Macedonia, Cyprus, Western Anatolia, and the southern Black Sea region—into a single Greek state.
By the late 19th century, Greece suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897, exposing its military and political weaknesses. The country was impoverished, and the monarchy's military leadership was ineffective. Nonetheless, the early 20th century saw a resurgence driven by Balkan nationalism. Greek and Bulgarian irregular forces clashed in regions contested between the Ottoman Empire and the Balkan states.
The 1908 Young Turk Revolution in the Ottoman Empire inspired Greek military officers and civilians to take action. In 1909, a coup d’état led by young officers installed Eleftherios Venizelos, a liberal politician from Crete, as a key figure. Venizelos established Greece’s first ideologically motivated political party, the Liberal Party, and swiftly moved to reform the economy, constitution, and military.
The Balkan Wars and Territorial Expansion
The turbulent regional climate culminated in the Balkan Wars (1912–1913). Under joint Balkan cooperation, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria fought against the Ottoman Empire. Greece's military success was notable: it regained the Aegean islands, acquired Crete, and expanded into Epirus and parts of Macedonia, including Thessaloniki.
However, the peace treaties that concluded the wars stirred tensions. Greece had not settled on territorial division agreements with its Balkan allies, particularly Bulgaria, which felt shortchanged. This led to the Second Balkan War, in which Greece, allied with Serbia, fought against Bulgaria and emerged victorious again, expanding its territory by about 70% and doubling its population to around 4.8 million. The newly acquired lands were diverse, comprising not only Greeks but also Slavs, Muslims, and Jews, raising questions about national loyalty and governance.
Amidst these territorial gains, King George I was assassinated in 1913; his son, Constantine, ascended to the throne. Constantine’s marriage connected him to Germany (via his wife, Queen Sofia, sister of the German Kaiser Wilhelm II), influencing Greece's wartime alliances.
The Outbreak of World War I and Greece’s Neutrality
In 1914, as World War I erupted, Greece was bound by alliances and regional pressures. Serbia sought Greek assistance against Austria-Hungary, with Venizelos advocating for Greece to honor its treaty commitments. Conversely, King Constantine, a staunch monarchist with strong German ties and admiration for German military strength, favored neutrality.
Initially, Greece remained neutral. However, the conflict created internal divides: Venizelos and his supporters pushed for aligning with the Allies (Entente Powers), while the royal family and military hierarchy leaned toward the Central Powers, favoring Germany and Austria-Hungary.
As the war progressed, external powers sought to influence Greece. In 1915, the Allied powers proposed to support Greece by promising territorial gains, specifically Western Anatolia if Greece joined their side. Venizelos favored this, but the King and military officials opposed intervention, leading to political standoff and his resignation.
The war exacerbated internal conflict, known as the "National Schism." In 1916, Venizelos returned to power, forming a government in Thessaloniki (Northern Greece) that aligned with the Allies, while King Constantine remained in Athens, backing neutrality. This division led to a de facto separation: Venizelos’s government in the north, recognized by the Allies, and the monarchist government in the south, supported by the Central Powers and conservative factions.
The situation escalated into a near-civil war scenario. The Allies, seeking to secure Greece's strategic position, landed troops in Thessaloniki and pressed the monarchy to abdicate. In response, pro-monarchist forces in Athens resisted, engaging in violent clashes known as the "November Events" of 1916, which included pogroms, arrests, and armed conflicts. The country was effectively divided.
In 1917, Venizelos was restored to power after the monarchist regime's collapse, and Greece officially declared war on the Central Powers. This marked the country's active participation in WWI, though the internal political turmoil continued to influence its war effort.
Though Greece entered the war late, its involvement would have lasting consequences. The internal divisions persisted beyond the war's end, which did not bring immediate peace or stability. The following years would see further struggles over national identity, territorial claims, and internal governance—a tumultuous period that defined modern Greece's political development.
In summary, Greece’s experience during World War I was marked by a fraught journey from neutrality to internal strife, driven by national ambitions, external pressures, and deep political divisions. Its story during this period underscores how regional conflicts and internal loyalties intertwined, shaping Greece's path into the modern era.

Yes. I added liquidity in CENT:LEO pool before and I noticed that the LEO I put in was decreasing while CENT was increasing. When I removed it and swapped CENT for LEO, it still didn't cover the LEO I lost.

Finally ticked this off my list for the month.
I had been trying to stake my LEO on LeoDex, but it couldn't, and I got the information that I needed a few Arb.ETH to carry out this action. So a few days ago, I had a conversation with @caspermoeller89, who assisted me and after transferring my small ETH worth $1.9 from trust wallet to my Keystore wallet, it wasn't enough to transfer to Arb.ETH because of the gas fees.
Casper offered to help me further and sent me some Arb.ETH that could enable me to stake the LEO. I tried once with so much excitement, but it still didn't stake, and after giving feedback to Khal on Discord a few minutes ago, I tried again, and it went through.
Now my staked sLEO is waiting for 23rd September. 🦁

Very simple. When you can't get motivated to write, curate. Read a few articles, vote, and comment on them. I've found most of my best articles start out as comments to someone else's post. I get a few sentences into my comment and realize, "Hey, this could be a blog post". I then copy and paste it into Inleo and start writing.
Whenever you're stuck, curate. It literally works every single time. You may not write an article that day, but you'll have ideas and ammo for the next.
I always set myself micro goals and take one task at a time :-)

The turbulent regional climate culminated in the Balkan Wars (1912–1913). Under joint Balkan cooperation, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria fought against the Ottoman Empire. Greece's military success was notable: it regained the Aegean islands, acquired Crete, and expanded into Epirus and parts of Macedonia, including Thessaloniki.

However, the peace treaties that concluded the wars stirred tensions. Greece had not settled on territorial division agreements with its Balkan allies, particularly Bulgaria, which felt shortchanged. This led to the Second Balkan War, in which Greece, allied with Serbia, fought against Bulgaria and emerged victorious again, expanding its territory by about 70% and doubling its population to around 4.8 million. The newly acquired lands were diverse, comprising not only Greeks but also Slavs, Muslims, and Jews, raising questions about national loyalty and governance.

Amidst these territorial gains, King George I was assassinated in 1913; his son, Constantine, ascended to the throne. Constantine’s marriage connected him to Germany (via his wife, Queen Sofia, sister of the German Kaiser Wilhelm II), influencing Greece's wartime alliances.
The Outbreak of World War I and Greece’s Neutrality
In 1914, as World War I erupted, Greece was bound by alliances and regional pressures. Serbia sought Greek assistance against Austria-Hungary, with Venizelos advocating for Greece to honor its treaty commitments. Conversely, King Constantine, a staunch monarchist with strong German ties and admiration for German military strength, favored neutrality.

Initially, Greece remained neutral. However, the conflict created internal divides: Venizelos and his supporters pushed for aligning with the Allies (Entente Powers), while the royal family and military hierarchy leaned toward the Central Powers, favoring Germany and Austria-Hungary.
As the war progressed, external powers sought to influence Greece. In 1915, the Allied powers proposed to support Greece by promising territorial gains, specifically Western Anatolia if Greece joined their side. Venizelos favored this, but the King and military officials opposed intervention, leading to political standoff and his resignation.
Internal Divisions and the National Schism

The war exacerbated internal conflict, known as the "National Schism." In 1916, Venizelos returned to power, forming a government in Thessaloniki (Northern Greece) that aligned with the Allies, while King Constantine remained in Athens, backing neutrality. This division led to a de facto separation: Venizelos’s government in the north, recognized by the Allies, and the monarchist government in the south, supported by the Central Powers and conservative factions.

The situation escalated into a near-civil war scenario. The Allies, seeking to secure Greece's strategic position, landed troops in Thessaloniki and pressed the monarchy to abdicate. In response, pro-monarchist forces in Athens resisted, engaging in violent clashes known as the "November Events" of 1916, which included pogroms, arrests, and armed conflicts. The country was effectively divided.
In 1917, Venizelos was restored to power after the monarchist regime's collapse, and Greece officially declared war on the Central Powers. This marked the country's active participation in WWI, though the internal political turmoil continued to influence its war effort.
The Aftermath and Ongoing Struggle

Though Greece entered the war late, its involvement would have lasting consequences. The internal divisions persisted beyond the war's end, which did not bring immediate peace or stability. The following years would see further struggles over national identity, territorial claims, and internal governance—a tumultuous period that defined modern Greece's political development.
