Trying to Make extra $$ with my Wife's photos. Any ideas?

avatar

I am currently trying to find ways to make money on the side. Bring in a little extra cash as sometimes things get a little tight. Also I have a huge expense on the van that I need to get fixed and then paid for.

I probably should not have just bought all that silver.....dang silver gold stackers are always making me jelous with all of their silver posts and then i go buy stuff. JK JK love that group here on hive. They have been good to me since day one.

So one thought I had was selling my wife photos for stock photos. She has thousands that we could updload tag and hopefully make some side money. Even if it was super slow to build up I think it would be a good long term play. Maybe not.

Anyone ever played around with this? Here are a few places I saw you could make money.

Shutterstock.

iStock Photo.

Etsy.

Right now I am leaning toward starting with Shutterstock. I would love if someone had any tips and tricks for me.

This will be a good weekend project for me. Its finally friday and hopefully I can use my weekends to find a few extra bucks.

If you are not a photographer that has done this before I would love to hear any other side hustle ideas that you have. Share it down below unless you want to keep your ideas safe from the rest of us.

I was testing on those sites and I never really sold even 1 photo, it's not that easy, the type of photos that are sold there is very specific, but nevertheless, if you already have thousands of photos, you don't lose anything by trying...

Another thing you can try is to sell framed photos, they can be landscape photos, you print it, frame it and offer it in your local markets or through social networks.

It's always difficult to get pictures sold there but you can give yourself a try

Ebay.

Not for the photos but for your stuff. A few years back I wanted needed to clear out a bunch of stuff that I just didn't use or need and over the course of a year or so sold a ton of stuff on ebay.

I learned there is a right way, and many wrong ways to sell on ebay ;)
Biggest investment is time. It takes some time to photograph, research value, make an ad, and package items up correctly for sale, but once you get in that groove, as I did, it's not too difficult.

Message me on discord if you want to chat about it.
