This is my post for freewriters 2834 prompt code hosted by @mariannewest.

I took my daughter to the store near our house, it is close enough to home that I do not worry about driving, and I do not get over 30 miles an hour. I told my daughter that if I have an episode for her to steer the truck. I come out of them fast, and it only happens when looking to the right, which I do not need to do when going to this store.

She did her shopping, and we put everything in the back of the truck. I don't like reaching over to unlock the door from the inside, so I went to her side of the truck and unlocked the door. She yells, "Mom, what are you doing?" "Nobody does that anymore". "I asked her what I was doing?" She said, "THAT" and pointed to my key that I unlocked her door with. She said, "Nobody unlocks a door like that".

I told her it was the only way to unlock the door. My truck does not have any bells or whistles, and that confused her. There is no code or fob. The only way to open a locked door is with the same key that starts the engine. Now, she is looking at me like I am crazy because she remembers you had to have two separate keys, one to start the car and one to open the doors, not one key that does both....

Yesterday, when my husband went to the beach looking for sandfleas, the swell had not built yet. He said it was a little over 2 feet and lots of disappointed surfers. He did not find any but he looked at the swell later that night, and it was already 6 feet. This morning it was 9 feet, that is too rough, the ocean will yank the rake out of your hands and eat it or throw it back at you. Let me tell you, that hurts. I bet the surfers are happy, it has been a long while since we had a swell.

My Friend-Shaped Car has a fob, but the transmitter is dead and the dealer wants hundreds of dollars for a replacement. I'm used to using a key for the door anyway. It seems to me Ford and Dodge usually used a single key for both, while Chevy/GM often had a square-headed key for the ignition and a different round-headed key for the doors.

I must have had a chevy/GM because I remember the square and round keys.

I remember having two separate keys for one or more of our cars, but I can't remember which one(s). Maybe the Suburban?
