This photo was taken six years ago. How things have changed since then. That day, I weighed up 71 pounds. Today, I never caught a trout. My sister and I fished all day and caught one bluefish. I quit. I am not going to work that hard and be in pain with my back and hand for the enjoyment of being on the river, it ain't worth it. I will stay home and pull weeds.

My husband fished today, but he did not fish around here, he went to Grant and Valkaria, and he caught 25 pounds. That is not much, but it beats not catching anything.

At the boat ramp, after we pulled the boat out and was getting things arranged for the drive home, an elderly couple pulled up next to my boat and said they remembered me from years ago when they used to buy fish from Judah's fish house. They wanted to buy fish from me, but I told them I did not catch anything, and if I did, I could not sell to them. I have to sell to only a fish house.

As we were talking, another boat pulled out and pulled behind the couple. He started laying on his horn for them to move, he could have pulled anywhere else and could have gone around them. Then he started spitting words like a stray bullet, he yelled at them to go back to New York. This pissed me off because they were an old colored couple who have been here longer than me and probably both born here. I told the angry man, you must not be from Florida, because Florida people have more respect than that. He said he was from Florida, and I am from Fort Lauderdale. When he said that, I said, "well that explains it". He did not say anything else to me, but the man with him laughed. I think he knew the guy was a jerk.
