For today, @alive.chat invites Hivers to stake more ALIVE and increase your ALIVE Power. The reward of this challenge is ALIVE which will be directly staked to their accounts. So, it's about getting a bonus from staking ALIVE because you will get more AP than you stake. The reward pot of this challenge comes from the author's post so it takes time to send the prizes to the participants.

What are the benefits of ALIVE staking?

  • Author Rewards and Curation Rewards with Your ALIVE Power (https://wearealiveand.social/)
  • Alive Tipping Bot with !ALIVE command
  • Participate in Alive Chat Challenges on Tuesday

Alive Tipping Bot

The minimum ALIVE Power to use our tipping bot is 1,000 AP (owned non-delegated stake plus incoming delegations) which allows you to send 10 tips per day, and we have 4 levels.

Level 1: 1k AP = 10 tips per day
Level 2: 5k AP = 20 tips per day
Level 3: 20k AP = 30 tips per day
Level 4: 100k AP = 40 tips per day
Use the command !ALIVE in a comment to send a tip, and do make sure to add a space just before and after to make sure it works correctly, the counter resets at midnight UTC.

So far, I have only staked ALIVE to increase the reward pot for Monday's Alive Chat Challenge. To start, I staked 25 ALIVE today. Once my total stake reaches 500 ALIVE, the reward pot will increase to 3,500 ALIVE Power ~> 1,750 ALIVE Power weekly = 350 AP for each winner.

Total Staking: 25 (+25)
Current reward pot: 3,000 ALIVE Power
Current Weekly Reward Pot: 1,500 ALIVE Power
Current delegation reward for each winner: 300 ALIVE Power

HMPV: Unnecessary panic or another pandemic?

A virus is gaining much attention lately. It’s called HMPV (human metapneumovirus). China being the initial place of the surge of this viral illness, people are in fear of experiencing another pandemic! Even though China attributed this surge to a yearly winter surge, people aren’t at ease! The WHO also hasn’t warned us about it! However, it’s advisable to approach this viral illness similarly to other viral infections (wearing musk, avoiding hand shaking, touching suspected virus-laden objects, etc).

It’s not a new virus. It's been in existence for at least 6 decades. It’s a norm to have a spike of this virus every winter and spring.

Like other viral illnesses, the disease starts with a cold, stuffy nose, and fever. In some individuals (children, elderly, or immunocompromised), pneumonia or bronchitis may complicate this condition. Usually, a person starts developing symptoms within 3-6 days of contracting the virus.

Currently, there are no vaccines available against this virus.
