When Online Shopping Gets Funny: Two Stories You Won't Believe

I am the kind of person who finds joy in buying stuff online; it is stress-free, I don't have to bother leaving my home or walking through shops to get what I want, and more so, it saves a lot of time. But there is something that happened recently that I find funny. Actually, I would be sharing a story about two recent experiences I had while trying to order something online.

The first was with Oraimo. After ordering a power bank from Oraimo, I received a free gift. A friend of mine was so interested that he told me to help him with the order since I have discounts on my Oraimo account. On a normal day, if I were to order from oraimo, the delivery time would be around 3 to 4 weeks before the product finally arrived.

This was how a week passed with no message, call, or anything from Oraimo. It was so annoying that I did not receive any calls or messages. I tried the customer service number I found on their website, but it was not going through. At first, when it went through, it was declined by the person operating the phone. This made me really angry. I asked myself a question: why would a popular brand not have a reachable customer service number?

Then I later remembered that I was in an exclusive WhatsApp group for Oraimo fans. I went in there to chip in my complaints, and then I was asked for my order number. This was when I was told that the order was cancelled because the free gift that was attached to it was no longer available. This made me more pissed, not because the free gift was not attached but because they did not communicate about what they did; they had to make me look for their customer service number before getting that information.

The second story I want to share is about a friend of mine who came to me about wanting to order an ergonomic share. I went online to search for the chair, and he saw a particular chair with a range of prices. He saw the chair for $29, and some other sellers want to sell that same chair for $42. The distance in prices was a lot, and this made us laugh so much.

Why were we laughing?

We were laughing as what was going through our minds was: Will the chair of $29 be original? Because it is actually hard to believe an ergonomic chair would be that cheap, and also because it is on sale for $42 by another seller. What is the difference between both of them, aside from the price?

I think this happens to people who go to the market. Just like having a seller tell you a price for something that was quite high, you move on to another seller showing you the same product for a far cheaper price. The thought of whether the product offered by the second seller is cheap or not.

It is so ethical that they couldn’t contact you, so you would know that the order has been cancelled.

Hehe. Products can be like that.

I actually prefer shopping but not shopping like in a congested and confusing market but like a specific place like a supermarket or a store specifically made for a particular thing.

Yeah shopping in a supermarket already has a fixed price on everything. I love that too, the environment and everything. Plus yeah, the free air conditioning as well.

Oraimo with their wahala, they should have contacted you to update you on the current development concerning your order. Keeping you in suspense was not a good idea at all.

I once read somewhere that comparison shopping snatches happiness. When we go on buying something that is available for two drastically different prices we are more bothered than pleased, aren't we?

Well, the first story wyou shared was really annoying. They should have informed via mail or sms

yeah, hmm when we see items of different prices, we either think we were cheated or bought something of lesser quality. We don't really get happy with the product.

God abeg. Are the other customers spoons? 😂
I too have about 2-3 Oraimo products and I'm not in any exclusive group.
I'll make sure I lodge a complaint the next time I order a product from them. I too must be added to the group.

lol I have bought over 6 products from oraimo, if it is not even up to 10 already. That is why I am probably in their exclusive whatsapp group.

Well, them dey talk say something nor dey good finish and this is obviously the evidence, hehe. Well, at least you later got to know why things happened the way they did.

About the other story, I think most people prefer to buy something that is more expensive because they think that's what will have a better quality but I don't think that's true all the time, you might just be lucky.

What me I do mostly is cut your clothes according to your size. If I have the money to afford the expensive one, I would buy it but mostly, I go for the cheaper one.

That's too bad for such brand with a big name. They should even have sent a message that the order was cancelled.

I always get amazed when I used to.nut things online on Aliexpress, I would see the same product with same details listed for different prices and the prices between both would be alarming.

Don't mind Oraimo... they should work on their customer service before they start losing customers.

They would lose customer woth that rude approach to their customers.

Bro, I would literally look for another that the price is in between the lower and higher one. If I don't find any, I would check for it another day.
