Description
Beach tennis is a sports discipline born in the 70s. From some research I understand that it was born on the Italian coasts.
In 1996 this sporting discipline was regulated, therefore clear rules of play were identified and the size of the playing field was defined.
The game is essentially a tennis match played on the sand. The rackets are different from those used in tennis and are played 2 against 2.
The playgrounds are built on sand. In Italy this sport is very widespread today.
The problem therefore arises of how to be able to hold tournaments or matches during the winter period given that the fields are located on the various beaches of the Riviera.
In the places where this sport is most practiced, indoor structures have been created in which different quantities of sand have been brought back and playing fields have been recreated.
Here in this post I show one of the indoor beach tennis facilities located in the Romagna region (Italy)
From these photos you can understand how beach tennis is a widely practiced sport in the Romagna Riviera area.

Il beach tennis è una disciplina sportiva nata negli anni 70. Da alcune ricerche mi risulta che sia nato sulle coste italiane.
Nel 1996 questa disciplina sportiva è stata regolamentata, quindi si sono individuate regole di gioco chiare e si è definita la dimensione del campo da gioco.
Il gioco è sostanzialmente una partita di tennis giocata sulla sabbia. Le racchette sono diverse da quelle che si usano nel tennis e si gioca in 2 contro 2.
Il campi da gioco sono costruiti sulla sabbia. In Italia questo sport è ad oggi molto diffuso.
Nasce quindi il problema di come poter fare tornei o partite durante il periodo invernale visto che i campi sono dislocati sulle varie spiagge delle riviere.
Nei punti in cui questo sport è più praticato sono state create delle strutture indoor nelle quali sono state riportate diverse quantità di sabbia e sono stati ricreati i campi da gioco.
Qui in questo post mostro una delle strutture indoor di beach tennis situata nella regione Romagna (Italia)
Da queste foto si può comprendere come il beach tennis sia uno sport molto praticato nella zona della riviera romagnola.

Here in Italy, beach tennis is very widespread in the areas surrounding the coast. These indoor facilities were created for training even in winter
I think what will make beech tennis not popular is because we lack the beach area
What part of the world do you live in? If there are no beaches this sport will actually be difficult to spread. The indoor structures are used to support all the activity done on the beaches in summer

I think this is the first time I've heard of beach tennis. I watched an intro video for it, and it reminds me of Badminton. The rules and gameplay are similar, with the ball and racket being the major difference. Since I like badminton, I think this will be fun to play as well.
In the Italian seaside areas, many tournaments are held during the summer period and there are some very fierce competitions. Players sometimes hit the ball so hard that I struggle to see it
Oh wow, that sounds intense. From the intro video I've seen, the ball is supposed to be softer than a regular tennis ball, but I saw that it is still pretty hard. I feel like it can cause bruising if someone smashes it full force and hits a player.
