Taco Tuesdays: Another Idea To Increase Post Engagement! Plus, Important Updates Regarding Ecency Points!

Thanks to a kind and bright suggestion by our very own @tikki00taffi, we have another themed day which will be called Taco Tuesdays!

As the FreeCompliments Community account grows to have a more valuable vote, themed posts may get a slightly higher vote percentage in order to encourage posting, yet would still be based on quality.

While the topics are themed on certain days, this does not mean that these themes are not permitted on other days. It’s just an incentive to encourage posting! All topics are allowed on all days.

In maintaining consistency with prior ideas, any posts which add the the FreeCompliments Community account as a beneficiary would receive an Ecency Boost of at least 150 points ($1 worth of votes). This percentage is currently 25%, and will be reduced over time.

Taco Tuesdays

How many people like to post about their food on social media? Plenty – and it’s easy to do, plus minimizes self-identification. Taco Tuesdays will not be all about tacos; rather, they will be inclusive of all food-themed posts. These can be meals that you yourself have made (which would be fantastic to see here, as it’s an opportunity to receive compliments), or food that you found and enjoyed! If you made it, tell us how; if you ate it, tell us how delicious it was so that I could break my self-imposed healthy diet (just kidding!).

Just make sure to title the post with “Taco Tuesdays” in the title.

Remember to not spam or you’ll lose the FreeCompliments community account’s votes completely. Spamming would consist of posting the same exact content over and over, or posting a very large amount of nearly-identical content over and over. Different configurations of the same plate of French fries would count as spam unless you’re creating some very unique sculptures! On the other hand, a single photograph of a slice of spam would be a brilliant way to make fun of what I’m writing here, and I’d applaud you.

Conclusion

Keeping in line with the FreeCompliments’ community of spreading joy, Taco Tuesdays are another themed day intended to provide a space for people to share images of food they’ve made or enjoyed!

Update on Ecency Points / Delegation

Back at the end of April, I set a goal of 65,000 Ecency points prior to decreasing our Ecency delegation. Just today, we have broken the 65,000 point barrier! Woohoo!

However, in the interest of growth, I have decided to use the FreeCompliments Community account @hive-140084 to make posts for themed days, and to set a 1-day promotion every time this occurs. This way, we’ll appear in the promoted feed nearly indefinitely.

Since we’ll now have 4 themed days, this would require 150 Points x 4 = 600 Ecency points per week, which comes out to 31,200 Ecency Points over the course of a year. Not that bad for a full year’s worth of promotion 4/7 days of the week.

Additionally, we’ll have some contests in the future, and these could also benefit from longer promotions. On top of this, the Hive rewards from this delegation are quite nice, and helping with reinvestments and other initiatives.

Thus, we’ll keep our maximized Ecency delegation until we reach closer to 100,000 Ecency points. This will take less than a month to reach.

Subsequently, the delegations will be spread out further to help support the community account’s posts. These posts will also help the account increase its financial value, which will be reinvested so that the account can grow even further!

Other developments in process

We’re developing and starting to implement ways to reward early joiners and contributors to this budding community. We’ll have more information coming up within the next 1-2 weeks. It’s an exciting time!
