Splinterland’s Nightmare?

The developers are working hard and we know it as news of Rebellion packs started and the anticipation of land 1.5 launch. Yet on the side there are several projects within Splinterlands that has been left to be completed likely after. Then is this a benefit to be investing in the leftover project?

I would be talking about Soulkeep. The side game to Splinterlands that was introduced a while back and has a beta test for mavericks. Players who buy 500 or more Nightmare packs.

With the game being delayed the value of Nightmare packs are down at a all time low of barely higher than 4 hives per a pack. But there are some benefits to holding Nightmare.

First off the packs yield daily sps if a player stores it in game. As of now it’s approximately, from my guesstimate, 0.0625 sps yield daily per pack held. Imagine buying 1000 packs which equates to about 63 sps yield daily. Of course there are not 1000 packs priced at 4 hive each. Hence the diamond hand holders of the packs are likely holding more than 1000 and reaping on the daily sps.

Another benefit of holding Nightmare is that fact that it’s no longer on sale in game. The cutoff of packs sales has led to a supply cap. This means the packs that are sold on hive-engine are just resales. With supply cut short only demand is in play here. Where there is demand there is value. In time when Soulkeep will be rolled out one has to believe that current prices of Nightmare packs won’t stay around 4 Hives.

Finally rumors have it the stoppage of selling Nightmare packs is the alpha status it has. In the very beginning of Splinterlands the most sought after packs known today are the alpha packs. Back in the day those packs were $2 each and sometimes even less when purchases in bulk. Roll out a few years later and the packs are now worth more than 10x. This can be a potential repeat with Nightmare packs. Rumors have it the packs are considered the alpha for Soulkeep. This can be a great long term hold if and when the game does roll out.
