Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Daarg Deadblast's weapons training is amazing

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles, with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Daarg Deadblast.

Daarg Deadblast is a Rebellion water splinter that costs 6 mana. It has the ability weapons training and swiftness from the very first level. At level 2, it learns triage and at level 3, it learns dodge. As a support monster with the weapons training ability, I think it works well as it makes your own monsters faster.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Standard. This means that there are no additional effects from the ruleset. I can use water, life, or dragonsplinter, and I have 86 mana available.

I use Marlai Singariel as my summoner for the +1 magic. Mantaroth is my first tank with shield and armored strike. After that is my backup tank Thanalorian Scion with void armor. Captain Fellblade with sneak is my third monster as it is a duo magic and melee monster. Daarg Deadblast is my 4th monster for its abilities, and I have two non-attacking monsters before and after it to take advantage of its weapons training.

My strategy is tank the attacks with my tank and backup tank. While that happens, the rest of my monsters are all magic monsters and they are buffed by my summoner. That damage will add up quite a bit and if my opponent doesn't have a way to counter it, then I should be able to kill off my opponent without any issues. Daarg will also increase my speed, and that will help my magic monsters who tend to have low speed.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. My opponent has quite a few healers and a repair monster. This means that Mantaroth won't do much damage, and I will have to rely on my magic monsters to outdamage the heals. It's a battle of endurance to see who can deal more damage first. I have more damage while my opponent has higher survivalability.

Round 3

round 3.png
My opponent has lost his tank while the rest of my monsters are alive. I guess I misread the start of the fight, but I am glad that I was able to outdamage my opponent. Once my opponent lost his tank, there wasn't much he could do. After all, the tank heals can only do so much when I have 14 magic damage per turn. At this point, this match is my win due to my high magic damage, and my opponent just doesn't have enough damage to turn the fight around.

I ended up winning a few rounds later.

Conclusion

The battle this time did play out as I expected. My magic lineup was too much to overcome when I combined it with my summoner. My opponent may have had a level advantage, but there wasn't much he could do against all the magic damage damage that I had. I was a bit worried at the start, but it looks like magic was the right choice. Otherwise, that shield ability, combined with healers and repairers, would have made the fight much harder.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

This one is a great card, the mana cost isn't too high and has a decent health besides the rest of abilities

Yea. I like it because of its abilities. It's just that amazing even at level 1.
