Splinterlands: Agniavan Salamander is great in Target Practice

Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Agniavan Salamander.

Agniavan Salamander is a fire splinter that costs 8 mana. This card only has the blast ability, and leveling it increases its health by 1. This isn't a card that I use too much but it depends on the situation.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Target Practice and Lost Magic. This means that no magic monsters can be used, and all ranged monsters gain the snipe ability. There is also 57 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for earth, death, and dragon.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. My tank is Frankarsgard. My backup tank is Chaos Furybringer with reach. Then I have my ranged monsters followed by New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. My Agniavan Salamander is my first ranged monster so it will be taking the hits after Aegis dies, and the blast ability will hit 3 monsters if they don't have taunt.

Round 1

At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have more damage than my opponent. I am worried about my opponent's tank, though, because it has shield, but I do have the speed advantage.

Round 4

A few rounds later, my opponent has 2 monsters left while I have 4. I have plenty of damage, and I have the speed advantage, so this is an easy win as I can't miss.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle this time did go exactly as planned. I just had the faster lineup, and with that extra damage advantage, I was able to overpower my opponent's backline. This let me win the match without too many issues, as my opponent's damage was too spread out. Agniavan Salamander was great in this match because of how that blast damage added up, and it worked well as a backup tank for that snipe damage.
