Celebrating Five Beautiful Years of the Ladies of Hive 🎉🌸 (LOH #254)

This week marks a very special milestone, the fifth anniversary of the Ladies of Hive community on hive. And that's why we start this post with a very beautiful music to set the stage, so you can play the music while you read this post...

The stories and bonds created in the community is amazing, it's not just about the years but the impact.
I would love to join this celebration 🎊 by bringing something to the table, sharing my wish and also dedicating a very beautiful music that reflects the energy of this community.

If I could bring a dish to the Ladies of Hive anniversary table, I would bring boiled Plantain with egg sauce.

I know most of my Nigerian friends will be there so there will already be Jollof rice which is our signature celebration food .
But I'm choosing to spice things up a bit by bringing this unique dish that has a story in our hearts.

Boiled plantain is a very simple dish but a very meaningful one. Plantain has always been a dish that reminds me of home, togetherness and comfort. I remember when my dad used to buy a bunch of plantain when he's coming back home from work and our faces lightens up by just seeing the plantain knowing what next will come.

Then my mom goes ahead to make this plantain, boils them and makes a special sauce to pair perfectly with it, and yes our favorite one has been the egg sauce. So yes, this meal brought celebration in our house because we were all happy and eating, this brought so much joy in the atmosphere. And most times the best ones is the one that is almost yellow ripe but not really too ripe and it gets boiled, gosh the taste is everything!

So the sweetness of this boiled plantain combined with the richness of the sauce feels like what this community represents for me: nourishment, balance and joy.

To me this dish will be perfect for our anniversary table because at first glance it seems simple but it has deep meaning, it is humble but satisfying, just like this community, it seems simple at first glance but carries deep values and strength and it has raised so many Hiveans.

Ok, another dish I also want to bring to the table it would be the legendary Goat meat pepper soup.

Yes, as the name implies, it is a very spicy dish and in most celebrations it is not missing. This dish represents the warmth and love of this community, and also the warm love of the admins, especially @thekittygirl, this is the community that directed my early steps on Hive and I appreciate that so much.

🌹 My Wish for the Ladies of Hive

My wish for the community is that it continues to grow and to blossom in strength and unity and impact. May it continue to be a safe space where women feel seen and celebrated. I hope and wish that every lady here in the community see an opportunity to shine and keep succeeding. And as the community moves forward, I hope it continues to inspire more women across Hive and beyond.

🎶 A Song I Dedicate to the Ladies of Hive

The song I would love to dedicate is "Shekere" by Yemi Alade and Angelique Kidjo, two powerful African women. This song reflects the power of women coming together.

It's a song that keeps everyone in the mood for celebration, it celebrates womanhood, joy and resilience. I'm sure everyone will love this song as it has an uplifting energy, full of rhythm and it united tradition with modern strength.

Shekere is song that keeps the energy alive and gets everyone dancing, celebrating and also appreciating the power of women, very much in line with the spirit of this anniversary.
So I do hope you loved the song and that you also see it fitting for the celebration.

I would love to thank everyone who has made this community a success and to those who has made it their home. Women are rocking it in the world and this community is a solid evidence, I'm so grateful to be part of this celebration!
