As we all know, water is life. No living thing on earth can survive without water. Water is the most essential, valuable and significant natural resource on Earth. It performs many functions both in our body and in the environment.
Human beings drink water for survival and to maintain a healthy life. Getting enough water to drink everyday is important. But, drinking warm water every morning is more important because of the health benefits attached to it.
Mind you, I said warm water not hot water. By warm, I mean neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm. Thus, the five benefits of drinking warm water every morning are:
1. It burns belly fat.
Many of us, especially females, admire people with flat tummies. We complain about our tummies becoming protruded and preventing us from wearing skimpy gowns. Well, if you know you have a big tummy, you can cultivate the habit of drinking warm water every morning. I call it an habit because it is a behaviour that should be performed regularly. Also, you have to be consistent and patient with it in order to get a desired result.

2. It alleviates nasal congestion.
Most of us aren't new to catarrh, cough and cold. I hate it anytime I have catarrh because it tend to activate other symptoms like headaches, high body temperature, weakness of the body, and many others. This can be so discomforting. However, anytime I have catarrh, I ensure to drink warm water with a little honey in it. This helps the mucus to drain and provide relief which makes sleep easier. Of course, many of us find it difficult to sleep anytime we have catarrh due to nose blockage. If you cultivate the habit of drinking warm water every morning, it will alleviate your nasal congestion and soothe sore throat.
3. It relieves menstrual pain.
Menstrual pain and cramps is something very common with the females. Some even go into depression when approaching their period because the pain has become unbearable. Drinking warm water can help with bloating and reduce the overall intensity of cramping. I am a living testimony to this activity and it has helped me especially during menstrual periods.

4. It keeps the body detoxified.
Drinking warm water helps to flush out toxins from the body system. It aids bowel regulation. Sometimes, we often struggle with our faeces in the toilet. We push and push but the poo will refuse to come out. Even when it does, it'll look strong and hard. Warm water helps to regulate our bowels thereby making it easy for us to pass out excreta without stress and much pushing like a woman in the labour room.
5. It keeps the body hydrated.
Drinking warm water can be soothing. It keeps the body hydrated because more water and nutrients are effectively transported to cells and tissues. It also helps to enhance blood flow in the body. It aids digestion and prevents constipation. In all, it reduces stress by giving the body a calm effect.

Earlier on, I said this physical health activity is an habit we should cultivate. It has to be done regularly and with patience in order to get the desired result. Many of us want sharp results. We'll do an activity once or twice and expect to get immediate results. When we do not see the result we want, we abandon the activity. This should not be so.
"Do you know that changes that seem small and unimportant at first will compound into remarkable results if you're willing to stick with them?
