As has become a tradition in my family, every summer my dad—who lives abroad—comes to Venezuela to visit us. He always plans something special during his stay, and this year was no exception: he organized a family trip to the beautiful island of Margarita! From the moment he suggested it, we were all so excited—especially me, since I had always dreamed of flying on a plane. This was going to be my very first flight! I couldn't have been more thrilled (and just a little bit nervous too).
Our flight was scheduled for 2 PM, so we arrived at the airport by 11 to check in our luggage. The whole process took longer than I expected, with a fair bit of waiting before boarding. But between conversations, laughter, and spontaneous photos, the time passed faster than I imagined. When the moment finally came to board the plane, I felt a rush of adrenaline and butterflies in my stomach.
I was lucky enough to sit next to my grandmother and by the window—which was perfect, because I got to take tons of pictures from the sky. The view was simply breathtaking: a clear sky, clouds floating below like cotton, and the blue sea slowly bringing us closer to our destination. Although I did feel a bit queasy and had my ears pop throughout the flight (which I didn’t expect!), the whole experience was unique and exciting. The flight only lasted 55 minutes, but it was more than enough to create a memory I’ll treasure forever.

Como ya se ha vuelto una costumbre en mi familia, cada verano mi papá, que vive en el extranjero, viene a Venezuela a visitarnos. Siempre busca hacer algo especial durante su estadía, y este año no fue la excepción: ¡planificó un viaje familiar a la hermosa isla de Margarita! Desde que nos lo propuso, la emoción se apoderó de todos, especialmente de mí, ya que, aunque siempre había soñado con volar en avión, esta sería mi primera vez abordando uno. No podía estar más emocionada (y un poquito nerviosa también). Nuestro vuelo estaba pautado para las 2 de la tarde, así que a las 11 ya estábamos en el aeropuerto para hacer el chequeo del equipaje. Todo el proceso fue más largo de lo que esperaba, con bastante tiempo de espera antes de abordar. Pero entre conversaciones, risas y fotos improvisadas, el tiempo pasó más rápido de lo que imaginé. Cuando finalmente llegó el momento de subir al avión, sentí una mezcla de adrenalina y mariposas en el estómago. Tuve la suerte de sentarme junto a mi abuela y al lado de la ventana, lo cual fue perfecto para mí, porque así pude tomar un montón de fotos desde el aire. La vista era simplemente espectacular: el cielo despejado, las nubes como algodón flotando debajo, y el mar azul que poco a poco nos iba acercando a nuestro destino. Aunque confieso que me sentí mareada casi todo el vuelo y con los oídos tapados (cosa que no me esperaba), la experiencia fue única y emocionante. El trayecto duró solo 55 minutos, pero fue suficiente para marcar un recuerdo que atesoraré por siempre.

Once we arrived at the Margarita airport, my dad picked up the rental car he had arranged for our stay. From that moment on, the island’s energy was in the air: warm weather, palm trees swaying in the breeze, and that unmistakable feeling of vacation mode.
We headed straight to our hotel: Dynasty Hotel.
I have to say, I loved it from the moment we arrived. Its location was perfect—very central and, to my absolute delight, right next to La Vela Mall! Ever since I found out we were going to Margarita, I had really wanted to visit that mall, so it felt like a dream come true.
As soon as we checked in, we were welcomed with a delicious cold cocktail—refreshing and just what we needed to kick things off on the right foot. The lobby was spacious, with a modern yet cozy vibe, and when I saw the pool, I could already picture myself lounging for hours, soaking up the sun and fully disconnecting. The rooms were also great—clean, comfortable, and with everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
This was just our first day, but I’m already beyond excited to share all the adventures that await us on this amazing island—from the local cuisine, to the beaches, day trips, and new discoveries I know are coming.
For now, I’ll just say this trip is off to a perfect start… and Margarita is already stealing my heart. 💙🌴✨

Al llegar al aeropuerto de Margarita, mi papá se encargó de buscar el auto que había alquilado para movilizarnos durante nuestra estadía. Desde ese momento, la energía de la isla se sentía en el aire: el clima cálido, el sonido del viento entre las palmas, y esa sensación de vacaciones que tanto se disfruta. Nos dirigimos directamente al lugar donde nos hospedaríamos: el hotel Dynasty. Tengo que decir que desde el primer instante me encantó. Su ubicación era perfecta: súper céntrica y, para mi emoción absoluta, ¡justo al lado del centro comercial La Vela! Desde que supe que iríamos a Margarita, tenía muchas ganas de conocer ese centro comercial, así que fue como un sueño hecho realidad. Al llegar, nos recibieron con un delicioso cóctel de bienvenida, bien frío y refrescante, ideal para comenzar la experiencia con buen pie. El lobby era amplio, con una decoración moderna pero acogedora, y cuando vi la piscina, ya me imaginaba pasando horas ahí, tomando el sol y desconectándome de todo. Las habitaciones también me gustaron muchísimo: limpias, cómodas y con todo lo necesario para disfrutar de una buena estadía. Este fue solo el primer día, pero ya estoy emocionadísima por compartir todas las aventuras que nos esperan en esta isla maravillosa. Desde la gastronomía local, hasta las playas, paseos y descubrimientos que sé que vendrán. Por ahora, solo puedo decir que este viaje comenzó con el pie derecho, y que Margarita ya me está robando el corazón. ¡Nos leemos en el próximo post! 💙🌴✨
