Despite the clouds, the outlook is clearer

Last weekend was anything but what we had planned.

On Saturday, the husband and I had a film forum about a movie we produced a while back. The event was in a town a couple of hours from where we live. So we had planned to go and maybe stroll around a bit. With the fuel shortage issue going on in the interior of the country, we don't usually go out too far from the city.

So on Saturday, we got up very early, but the husband was not feeling well. He woke up with an arrhythmia. It is not unusual for him to have an arrhythmia from time to time, but it usually passes within a few minutes. But this time, it was different. Although he had no chest pain, the arrhythmia made him pale and would not go away. His heart rate was crazy and even went up to 150. That set off all my alarms.

We canceled the event. No way we would go out of town. Instead, I called the doctor on the way to the emergency room. Luckily he happened to be at the hospital, so he saw us in his office. The husband had an arrhythmia called atrial fibrillation. He is on rest for now with treatment and he will be evaluated in two weeks.

The cloudy sky Sunday afternoon when I went out for a walk

Yesterday, Sunday, he woke up feeling fine. This gives us hope that he can do well with treatment and without the need for an intervention. Needed if the arrhythmia persists. But he must continue to rest. So instead of going for a walk in the morning as we had planned, we stayed home.

I have been cooking. Since the doctor told me that I should take measures with my diet because of my blood sugar level. I have been reading a lot about how to eat healthier. My idea is that we don't feel like we are dieting but rather eating healthier while eating things we like.

Yesterday, I made a shrimp ceviche. A quinoa salad with cucumber, tomato, and olives. We served it with avocado and some thin slices of plantain that I made in the air fryer which turned out great. Now I want to try with green plantains to make tostones chips for snacks.

We watched a little Netflix. I walked a bit in the common square of the complex where we live, to keep exercising a bit, and I have pending to do my Actifit today in @coquicoin-leo. One thing that has kept me motivated to exercise is posting a daily report of what I do to stay fit and healthy.

And the husband got plenty of rest in good company. 😹

Because when it comes to naps, Milo is at your service at any time of the afternoon. By the way, this tender little thing is now 6 months old and has been with us for 3 months. These days, I will tell you a little more about his antics.

This is how the weekend went. At first full of anguish. Fortunately, although there is no certainty what will be the course to follow with my husband's health, the outlook today looks much clearer as today he also woke up feeling well.

That's all for today, dear Silver Bloggers. Have a great week.

Thank you for reading:)

Thank you, Hoosie😊

Yes like fried plantains but with out the fatty, hehe. I sliced them and put them on baking paper, then I put them in the fridge. After an hour, I placed them in the air fryer. You have to let them cool or put them in the refrigerator for a while so that they can be easily removed from the baking paper and not break.

I hope so too, Super Ed 💙 We've had one setback after another. I hope there won't be any more for a while at least.

Super yummy, like fried plantains but without the fat.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Scary moments for sure.
Good to hear the treatment and rest is helping.
Let’s hope he recovers further.

Eating healthier does help for everybody. Especially easy when you can eat the things you like already.
