Greetings everyone!

Today, i want to share with everybody a refreshing, healthy drink that i made.
I prepared it using dry hibiscus flower, cinnamon stick and pineapple.

In my country, this drink is called zobo drink and it is sold in our market. People love it,i love it so much and I love purchasing it anytime I see people selling it.
This time i decided to prepare it at home, so i could enjoy it with my family in a large quantity.
My child had to store hers ,so she can take it to school today.

Aside the amazing taste, i love taking it because of it's health benefits.
Here's how i prepared it..

Ingredients needed

  • 2 and half cup of dry hibiscus flower
  • 9 cups of water
  • 1 stick of cinnamon stick
  • any amount of pineapple flesh(you can use the peel too)
  • pineapple flavor for sweetener

Procedures

Wash the dry hibiscus flower and cook

I began by washing the dry hibiscus flower with a clean water, this process is to make sure there is no dirt.
After washing, I transferred the dry hibiscus flower into a pot filled with 9 cups of water. If you want to add more water,it's allowed but you have to get more sweetener unless you don't have sweet tooth.

Add the pineapple, cinnamon stick and allow it to boil

I sliced the pineapple in pieces (you can blend too). Then i added it to the boiling pot, i also added the cinnamon stick and allowed them to boil for atleast 5 minutes.
As the combination boils, the color of the water changes to dark red. You can adjust the color by adding more water but i prefer mine dark red.

Remove from heat and add sweetener

Now it is time to remove from heat, then add your pineapple flavor while the mixture is still very hot. This helps dissolve the mixture and gives you that wonderful taste.
Adults can drink it without sweetener, but children would love the ones with sweetener.
Note: there are many flavors aside pineapple flavor.

Add the liquid to containers and served chilled

At this point, your hibiscus flower drink is ready, you just need to transfer to containers or cups and refrigerate.
