Saludos queridos amantes de la costura, espero se encuentren de maravilla y estén teniendo una excelente semana. Está semana empezó con bastante trabajo, una amiga me había comentado que si le podía hacer un uniforme médico para ella y para su pareja pues ella es estudiante de medicina y el también y querían tener uniformes nuevos, yo le dije que nunca había hecho uniformes pero que podía intentar, así que me compró las telas y los materiales y me trajo un uniforme para usar de modelo, este uniforme que iba hacer de primero era el de su pareja que es un diseño más sencillo, así que me puse manos a la obra y el resultado fué más de lo que esperaba así que, acompañame a ver el proceso.

Greetings dear sewing lovers, I hope you are feeling wonderful and are having a great start of the week. This week started with quite a bit of work. A friend had asked me if I could make medical uniforms for her and her partner, as she is a medical student and so is he, and they wanted new uniforms. I told her that I had never made uniforms before but that I could try, so she bought me the fabric and materials and brought me a uniform to use as a model. The first uniform I was going to make was for her partner, which is a simpler design, so I got to work and the result was better than I expected, so come with me to see the process.

Paso a paso || Step to step

Lo primero que hice fué cortar todas las piezas, coloqué el pantalón de muestra sobre la tela doblada para cortar las dos piezas de una vez y cortar la pieza delantera y luego la trasera respetando los márgenes de costura, también corté las piezas de los bolsillos que son dos para cada lado. Luego de tener todas las piezas cortadas comencé a coser los bolsillos que van pegados primero a la pieza delantera del pantalón con un corte diagonal, primero cosí enfrentando sus derechos luego lo voltee hacia adentro y pise la costura, luego cosí la otra pieza del bolsillo, seguí cosiendo los costados del pantalón con costura recta y luego zigzag para reforzar y posteriormente cosí los tiros del pantalón para luego terminar con la entrepierna, para los bordes del pantalón hice un dobladillo sencillo.

The first thing I did was cut all the pieces. I placed the sample pants on the folded fabric to cut both pieces at once, cutting the front piece and then the back piece, respecting the seam allowances. I also cut the pocket pieces, which are two for each side. After cutting all the pieces, I began sewing the pockets, which are first attached to the front piece of the pants with a diagonal cut. First, I sewed them with the right sides facing, then turned them inside out and pressed the seam. Then I sewed the other piece of the pocket. I continued sewing the sides of the pants with a straight stitch and then a zigzag stitch to reinforce them. Next, I sewed the legs of the pants and then finished with the crotch. For the edges of the pants, I made a simple hem.

Para coser la pretina use una elástica gruesa que cosí con zigzag en el borde para luego doblar hacia adentro y terminar de coser con costura recta haciendo cuatro costuras en total, por la costura del medio pasé el cordón para terminar la pretina que me encantó como quedó, la verdad el pantalón me quedó bastante bien y mucho mejor de lo que yo pensaba, mañana les comparto la segunda parte con la camisa. To sew the waistband, I used thick elastic that I sewed with a zigzag stitch around the edge, then folded it inward and finished sewing it with a straight stitch, making four seams in total. I threaded the cord through the middle seam to finish the waistband, and I loved how it turned out. Honestly, the pants fit me quite well, much better than I thought they would.
