Concert and recording "El Otro Polo" [Eng-Esp]

In my most recent participation in the Vibes Web3 Music Competition, I presented a song from a production I was involved in eight years ago. The song I brought was Ofrenda, from the album “A Color” by a Venezuelan singer who was preparing his first album. I was responsible for making three arrangements for that album, with a Big Band sound, in the style of the 1950s. The singer and author of all the songs is Carlos Poletto, under the stage name El Otro Polo.

That album made a strong entry into radio stations and soon became one of the most prominent artists on the Venezuelan music scene, in addition to receiving numerous nominations and awards.

I had the pleasure of being tasked with putting together part of the orchestra and conducting it for his first performances.

Of course, it is very difficult for an emerging artist to maintain an orchestra, and he soon had to make an adjustment to the concept.

However, the launch had to be done properly, so we held two very important concerts, one at the Metropolitan University and the other at what was then the BOD, now called the Centro Cultural de Arte Moderno.

While recording my participation for Vibes, I remembered that I never published anything about these events on Hive. So I went looking for them, and here are some images. The first ones are from the concert at the BOD, and the last ones are part of the testimony of the album recording.

En mi más reciente participación en Vibes Web3 Music Competition, presenté un tema de una producción en la que participé hace 8 años. La canción que traje fue Ofrenda, perteneciente al disco "A Color" de un cantante venezolano que estaba preparando su primer disco. Yo tuve la responsabilidad de hacer tres arreglos para dicho disco, con sonido de Big Band, al estilo de los años 50. El cantante y autor de todos los temas es Carlos Poletto, bajo el nombre artístico de El Otro Polo.

Ese disco logró entrar fuerte en las emisoras de radio y pronto se convirtió en uno de los artistas más destacados de la escena musical venezolana, además de recibir numerosas nominaciones y premios.

Yo tuve el gusto de recibir la tarea de ensamblar parte de la orquesta y dirigirla para sus primeras presentaciones.

Por supuesto, para un artista emergente es muy difícil mantener una orquesta y pronto tuvo que hacer un ajuste en el concepto.

Sin embargo, el lanzamiento debía ser con todas las de la ley y así hicimos dos concierto importantísimos, uno en la Universidad Metropolitana y otro en lo que era el BOD, ahora llamado Centro Cultural de Arte Moderno.

Mientras grababa mi participación para Vibes, recordé que yo nunca publiqué nada sobre estos eventos en Hive. Así que me puse en la búsqueda y aquí traigo algunas imágenes. Las primeras corresponden al concierto en el BOD y las últimas son parte del testimonio de la grabación del disco.
