People can derive joy and happiness from very random or "unnecessary" things. Most times, these unnecessary things that we treat as very important were probably found in the most unusual places e.g on the pathway while you were hiking or by the sea shores.

Material things are not the most valuable thing in life, however, there are material things that bring joy to our days. Show us something unnecessary but makes you happy — it can be a simple toy or even a cup with a design that you love, and please tell us the story behind that object.

This item that I'm about to show you was found in my dad's room many years ago during a random cleanup. Nobody saw it as important because it was all dusty and dirty but I still chose to keep it.

The first striking thing about this item— which I call my ten inch treasure —was the colour. At that time, I didn't get to see black coated woods regularly and this wood looked very outstanding to me. With the right cleaning, it was shining in no time.

Growing up, I used this wood as a microphone whenever I wanted to sing( more like whenever I wanted to make noise). I remember one time when we were supposed to have a karaoke night, all my siblings picked their microphone–look alikes from the kitchen (spoons, spatulas) but I insisted on using my wood. I ran miles just to get this wood and because of that, the karaoke night was one of my best nights from childhood. Why?. Because the black wood made me feel like I was performing on stage with an actual microphone.

Many would see this wood as awkward but this, to me, is that unnecessary material that brings joy to my days. Even though we don't do karaoke nights anymore nor do I use the wood whenever I want to sing, the mere sight of the wood still brings bliss to me.

We are not always surrounded by people who share our same tastes or interests. Tell us what was the last movie, series, documentary or book that you have seen or read that you want to talk to someone about but have not had the opportunity.

There is this series I watched sometime ago, Lucifer . It was actually a very interesting movie. Whenever I tried recommending the movie to anyone, they'd go like "Lucifer? You mean Satan? Noo, I won't want to watch that". If only they knew what they were missing.

Many people expect the series to be filled with so much gore and torture or maybe they expect to see a black huge demon with horns running around every scene in the movie , on the contrary, the character who played the role of Lucifer was a handsome and charming young man. To debunk that stereotype, Lucifer is actually a movie that centres around the bible and many events that occured in it.

This is actually the best movie I've seen which has the bible as its scripts. I literally learnt things I didn't know about the Bible from this movie. One other thing that got me glued to this movie was the lead character's British accent. I love the British accent and after watching this series, I just wanted to learn to speak that way. Unfortunately, my efforts were futile to an extent. I can at least say "bottle of water" with the British accent, hehe.

If you haven't seen this series, I'd highly recommend it to you. It's everything in one; romance, revelation/mystery, drama, comedy, crime, name it. On the plus side, it can help you ace your Bible school effortlessly.

La gente puede obtener alegría y felicidad de cosas muy aleatorias o "innecesarias". La mayoría de las veces, estas cosas innecesarias que tratamos como muy importantes probablemente se encuentran en los lugares más inusuales, por ejemplo, en el camino mientras estaba de excursión o por la orilla del mar.

Las cosas materiales no son lo más valioso de la vida, sin embargo, hay cosas materiales que alegran nuestros días. Muéstranos algo innecesario pero que te haga feliz - puede ser un simple juguete o incluso una taza con un diseño que te encante, y por favor, cuéntanos la historia que hay detrás de ese objeto..

Este objeto que voy a mostrarte lo encontré en la habitación de mi padre hace muchos años durante una limpieza al azar. Nadie lo consideró importante porque estaba lleno de polvo y sucio, pero aun así decidí conservarlo.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención de esta pieza -a la que llamo mi tesoro de diez pulgadas- fue el color. En aquella época, no solía ver maderas con revestimiento negro, y esta madera me pareció excepcional. Con una limpieza adecuada, quedó reluciente en un santiamén.

De mayor, utilizaba esta madera como micrófono cuando quería cantar (más bien cuando quería hacer ruido). Recuerdo una vez que íbamos a celebrar una noche de karaoke y todos mis hermanos cogieron sus micrófonos de la cocina (cucharas, espátulas), pero yo insistí en usar mi madera. Corrí kilómetros sólo para conseguir esta madera y por eso, la noche de karaoke fue una de mis mejores noches de la infancia. ¿Por qué? Porque la madera negra me hacía sentir como si estuviera actuando en un escenario con un micrófono de verdad.

Muchos verían esta madera como algo incómodo pero esto, para mí, es ese material innecesario que trae alegría a mis días. A pesar de que ya no hacemos noches de karaoke ni uso la madera cada vez que quiero cantar, la mera visión de la madera todavía me trae felicidad.

No siempre estamos rodeados de personas que comparten nuestros mismos gustos o intereses. Cuéntanos cuál ha sido la última película, serie, documental o libro que has visto o leído del que quieres hablar con alguien pero no has tenido la oportunidad.

Hay una serie que vi hace tiempo, Lucifer . La verdad es que era una película muy interesante. Cuando intentaba recomendársela a alguien, me decían: "¿Lucifer? ¿Quieres decir Satanás? Noo, no quiero ver eso". Si supieran lo que se pierden.

Mucha gente espera que la serie esté llena de sangre y tortura, o que haya un enorme demonio negro con cuernos corriendo por todas las escenas de la película, pero el personaje que interpreta a Lucifer es un joven apuesto y encantador. Para desacreditar ese estereotipo, Lucifer es en realidad una película que gira en torno a la Biblia y muchos acontecimientos que ocurrieron en ella.

De hecho, es la mejor película que he visto cuyo guión gira en torno a la Biblia. Literalmente aprendí cosas que no sabía sobre la Biblia gracias a esta película. Otra cosa que me enganchó a esta película fue el acento británico del protagonista. Me encanta el acento británico y, después de ver esta serie, quería aprender a hablar así. Por desgracia, mis esfuerzos fueron inútiles hasta cierto punto. Al menos puedo decir "botella de agua" con acento británico, jeje.
