Beyond Doubt: Whispers of the Unseen - Chapter 95
Welcome to my seemingly endless journey.
A trip that will take you to places I might have visited many moons ago.
It´s a tale that came back to me when I meditated on one of my past lives. A life I told you about in my unbelievable true story.
As promised in that story I will now share this story with you.

Chapter 95

In the evening, I talk with Numico and Cabilah about my desire to return when all this is over. Even though they are understanding, I feel that they are afraid that I will leave early. As if they feel deceived, something I absolutely wouldn't dare think about.
It is quickly put right by telling them how they both feel like family. That I won't leave them before this adventure is over. I know that they follow me because of our shared ideals, but that I am the guiding factor.
They tell me my eyes burn when I talk about the purpose of our journey and that the fire has partly encouraged them to also choose that possibly better world.
They are somewhat right when they feel that I want to go back. Not that I will give in, but the wait and the future perspective make it clear that we are far from where we would like to be. It seems that we are now at a new beginning, despite everything, which makes me impatient.
Finally, the third night arrives, and we break camp and pack the horses. We are waiting for the moon to rise. When it is finally time, we spur the horses and ride after Cabilah. I am relieved that we are finally on the road again, even if it is short-lived.
After tonight, I will sleep in a real bed again, eat real food, be able to wash myself with warm water. At least if the coin falls the right way, otherwise, we will have to run, race, and rush again. In any case, I have action or comfort as a prospect after this endless wait.
For the time being, everything goes smoothly Cabilah leads us to the stables where we tie our horses with a simple knot in case we have to leave in a hurry.
I hear something behind me and turn around to see something we did not expect at all. Monta had followed us and now comes running towards us. He might cause problems, but there is no point in sending him back.
The four of us make our way to the front of the house, where some of the windows are lit. The staff won't be in these living quarters uninvited, so there is a good chance it is Dadrie and Kreytu. Near the large garden at the front, Monta starts to pace nervously back and forth.
We stop, in the distance, I hear a soft rumbling quickly approaching. We run to the center of the garden where there is a huge bush of roses. On our bellies, severely hampered by the thorns, we crawl deeper into the bush. The sound gets louder, it is hooves.
“They are two horses,” whispers Numico.
Two, what could that be? That would be very little for reinforcement, or would the three of them think they could overpower Dadrie?
The horses now pass in front of the house, going at full gallop and nothing seems like they will stop. Less than a minute later the sound disappears into the distance, and I breathe a sigh of relief. It seemed we just escaped from two farmers returning from visiting whoever or whatever.
From our position, I see that Dadrie and Kreytu are actually in the large room. As we creep toward the window, Numico imitates the call of an owl. The boy is so good with animal sounds. It is true that he can speak to them, but I don't think it is by imitating their language, yet he has a wonderful command of the sounds. No one would hear the difference, I think, as I press myself against the wall with Cabilah on the right and Numico on the left of the window.
Very carefully I glance inside. The glass in front of the windows is not completely clear, which gives a beautiful shadow play. If I see correctly, Dadrie facing the window, while Kreytu is sitting across from him. I hear Dadrie clear his throat.
“I have something to tell you, good friend,” he begins thereafter.
“Just a moment,” Kreytu speaks as he prepares to stand up.
I quickly turn back. It is so quiet that I hear the footsteps in the room. I expect Dadrie to continue his story, but he asks a little too loudly "What's wrong, do you hear anything?"
Kreytu is silent, then the windows open, and because they open outwards and with quite a pace just before I will come into contact with it, it slows down and stops.
Not yet half recovered from the shock, I see Kreytu leaning out of the window.
"Come on in! At least if you are who I think you are. That is to say, Reiko's friends are my friends, especially if they plan to harm the Sikh. Even though I would no longer bet my money on you after this failed presentation of your skills."
"Your plan was probably a good one. Only you forgot to notice that you never hear an owl in this area.” Kreytu bursts out laughing. Dadrie also laughs at the crestfallen and surprised looks on our faces.
