7 Digital Tools I Wish I Knew Sooner

The truth is, the digital space has made life so much easier. A little complicated for beginners, but if you're someone who loves to leverage the power of technology, there are treasures to be discovered. In this article, I'll be sharing some of these treasures with you. From where to find free courses to some productivity tools that'll make your workflow seamless and more enjoyable.

Let's go!

1. Trello Board

With Trello, you can have your daily or weekly tasks organized. You can keep your progress in check, which in turn promotes accountability. There will hardly be room for laziness or procrastination if you're seeing exactly a map of things you've got to do for the day or week. I think one of my favorite things about the Trello board is that you can have about three boards. For me, this is my arrangement...

  1. Board 1: titled this board, "To-do Today". This board contains the task I have to do for the day. The beautiful thing about Trello is, you can edit each task from the task title to the deadline to attachments. It just makes handling tasks so much easier and enjoyable. Because from Board 1, we move to Board 2.
  2. Board 2: titled this, "Doing". From the first board, I move tasks that I am presently doing to the next board. This really helps me stay productive and organized.
  3. Board 3: titled this, "Done". This is where tasks that I have successfully completed go. Imagine the joy at the end of the day when I'm able to move all of the tasks opened under "To-do today" to "Done". Makes me feel like a boss tbh, lol.

You can also have other boards such as "To-do Tomorrow", "To-do Next Week", "Postponed". There are so many other features to enjoy when you open a task, such as adding labels, priority, sub-tasks, etc.

If you've been looking for how to stay productive and organized (especially if you're a remote worker), you should check out Trello.com

2. Google Digital Garage

On this platform, you can find free certified courses. From digital marketing to e-commerce to web design & development. As we know, certificates are as important as your knowledge of the job these days. While platforms like Udemy or Coursera can do that for you, not everyone has the money, right? However, lack of money does not equal lack of opportunity. And this right here is an opportunity. Google Digital Garage

3. Futureme.org

This is actually a fun one. It's a website where you can write a letter to your future self. You can set the date to like a month from now, 5 years from now, 10 years maybe. And on the set date, you'll have the letter emailed back to you. Real cute, innit?

4. Speechify

This is a Chrome extension. It helps you instantly turn any text online into audio. You can listen to articles, read books, and PDFs, and so on. It's great for multitasking, learning while walking, or doing house chores.

5. Otter.ai

This is also a Chrome extension that helps you create real-time transcriptions of meetings, videos, and lectures. Think of it as your personal secretary.

6. Jobs.Google.com

Obviously, there are so many job-seeking platforms. There's LinkedIn, Jobberman, and so on. Now, this particular one, Jobs.google.com, helps you find job openings directly from Google. Talk about optimizing the power of one of the biggest (if not the biggest) search engines. You can use the filter feature to set your preference for location, job type, date, industry, and so on for a streamlined search.

7. Google Scholar

With this, you can search credible academic papers, research, and verified documents. You'll be getting credible information, relevant stats, and quotes to add to your writing or research.

And that's it for now. If you know of any others, kindly add to the list in the comment section. 😉

Thank you for reading! 🧸🧡

That one to my future self is so cool. I can imagine getting an email from myself some months to come, telling me to look back to see all that I have achieved.

Tried Speechify a few months back. Was cool using Mr Beast's and Ali Abdaal's voices, but they had to ruin it with their premium plan... wished them the best. Actual screenshots of the tools would have been better, by the way, and #chessbrothers is specifically for chess content. My alternative to Trello is Notion, yes, because it's like my second brain, so I guess I'll try otter.ai
