Black and white || An event commemorating Maulidur Rasul in Cot Dua

Greetings friends wherever you are, I am @walicotdua back, sorry this is my first post after a long period of inactivity, remember I last opened the Hive Blog 5 years ago.

A few days ago, precisely on Saturday, September 21, 2024, we the people of Cot Dua hamlet held an event to commemorate the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Actually, the Maulid event of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is generally held on the 12th of Rabiul Awal which fell on Monday yesterday, September 16, 2024. But we have agreed to postpone it so that it does not coincide with events in the village.

On that day, early in the morning the people of Cot Dua hamlet in Blang Karieng village had gathered at the Meunasah to see and hear the chanting of dhikr from several Islamic boarding schools. The zikr group came because of an invitation from the event committee. In the morning there were only two dhikr groups, one of which chanted nazam and shalawat accompanied by lingik, which is one of the rare ones. The purpose of lingik when chanting dhikr is to make the spirit fluctuate in children and adults during dhikr.

In addition, some older people and adults chose to welcome the guests. They invited the guests to sit in the places that had been provided. However, the guests joined in the zikr because it was so lively.

After the dhikr and dhikr were finished, the program continued with the distribution of food in the form of packaged rice. The packaged rice is a feast from the people of Cot Dua hamlet. Usually, each family gives 10 packets of rice. So that the guests who attend will be distributed one packet individually.

The guests were not allowed to leave until they had received one packet of rice each, after which they were allowed to leave. Some enjoyed the packaged rice there, and some took the rice home.
