TOMORROW: The beginning from today's end.

Amanda was a really bright child. She was loved by everyone and as much as She wanted, it was given to her.
The fact that she was the only child of her parents and was termed the miracle child because her mother had her when she was sixty years old.

I guess Sarah from the Bible serves as a role model to Mrs. Akin. When She discovered She was pregnant, Mr. Akin stopped her from every single work till the day She conceived.

The name Amanda is the short version of the name Chimamanda which means "My God will never fall or fail"

The was a public child in the sense that the whole community joins hands in raising her. Till the day she graduated from secondary school, She never lacked anything.

My Child you are quickly turning into an adult and I already know that men would still start flocking. I will tell you something that would benefit you. Mrs. Akin worriedly voiced. Make sure that any man you choose to be your husband must never have a wrong foundation.

Amanda was really worried by the tone in which her old mother spoke. But the concern in her voice was extremely palpable.

I loved your father more than anything in this world and I still do till now and till death separates us to unite us in heaven. One thing I would have done before I married your father was check his foundations. Tomorrow's war could be won today with wisdom.

Mama, why are you saying all these to me? Amanda asked.

Emotion makes us human but makes our decision sometimes weak.

Flowers wilt, irons rust, ice melts, men die, nothing ever stays the same. The two constants are only God and change.

Amanda listened to her Mums advise and seven years later She was married to her best friend. Ejike had always been by her side for many years but the tag read friends. Amanda had been through many heartbreaks due to the fact she was looking for what her Mum told her about before passing out.
Most times what we search for is always before us. But like her Mum rightly said, emotions could blind us and keep us from making wise decisions.

Ejike never had any relationship because the only person for Him was Amanda. But to Amanda, Ejike was just a shoulder She could lean on when things go sour. For a long time Ejike played His role well till it became very unbearable.

**Ejike, you are my best friend and I don't want to ruin what we have now. What if we don't work? Everything would end and I can't really imagine my life without you in it."

But, what if we work? Ejike asked.
I know for a fact that I would take care of you till the day I draw my last breath. Our friendship would make our relationship more solid. Let's bring to an end this stage and begin something brighter with each other. I don't know about you Amy but I'm certain that you totally complete me.

Amy!!! Amanda asked.

You don't like it? Ejike asked

It felt strange in a good way though. If I say yes does it mean you will call me Amy from today? She asked with smiles in her eyes so obvious She was holding back from blushing.

No, I will call you Amy mu (my Amy). Ejike answered.

Amanda couldn't hold back herself. She blushed so hard that her red cheeks would have been mistaken for tomato.

So, what would you call me? Ejike asked.

I would call you.... She paused for a moment... Ikem (meaning my strength).

Ejike felt like He had conquered half the world.

We've been married for 5 years and I'm grateful what happened to my Mum didn't happen to me. God blessed us with two children.

Two children for now, more still on the way. Ejike cutted in.

My Mum told me that my Father's foundation kept her barren for years so I would have to be careful of the man I join my future with.

What's your greatest regret Amy mu? Ejike asked.

Not seeing you early enough. She replied without hesitation.

What about you Ikem? Amanda asked.

Not listening to my mother. He replied with so much disappointment in His eyes.

What did your Mum say? Amanda asked.

I don't know because I never listened. Ejike replied.
But I'm happy that your Mum's lesson guided the both of us to the right part.

Thanks for reading❤️❤️.

This story is a powerful reminder that wisdom often arrives before we're ready for it. I loved the way you framed Mrs. Akin's experience with the "wrong foundation" as the central, generational lesson. That phrase, "Tomorrow's war could be won today with wisdom," is such a profound core message.
