Boundaries and unity make healthy relationships : LOH N°225

How are you all? 🤗 I hope you are having a great weekend 😁, this time I decided to participate in the community's weekly contest and I chose the second question: What are some of the personal limits that you consider important to respect in a relationship? And what are your feelings about independence and unity in a relationship? This question caught my attention a lot and here is my answer.

¿Cómo están todas? 🤗 Espero estén tendiendo un excelente fin de semana 😁, en esta ocasión me animé a participar en el concurso semanal de la comunidad y elegí la segunda pregunta :¿ Cuáles son algunos de los límites personales que consideras que es importante respetar en una relación?¿Y cuáles son tus sentimientos sobre la independencia y unión en una relación?. Está pregunta me llamó mucho la atención y pues aquí está mi respuesta.

Setting boundaries in any type of relationship is important since there will be times where you just need some time for yourself and that is very good, you always have to keep a little of our essence for ourselves, have our own moments alone since it is no secret that life is hard and there are things that we have to solve ourselves. One of the limits that I think is quite important to respect and that I think is almost always not met, is to have a moment for yourself, either to rest or after a fight with your partner to be able to think things over, almost always this does not happen because sometimes the person tends to emotionally manipulate you with phrases like: "I can't live without you", "I have to be with you every day", "If you're going to think about it, you're going to leave me", among others, in my personal opinion being alone for a moment is important to be able to think clearly and calm the feelings that blind us to making negative and impulsive decisions.

Colocar límites en cualquier tipo de relación es importante, ya que habrán veces donde solo necesites un tiempo para tí mismo y eso está muy bien, siempre hay que guardar un poco de nuestra esencia para nosotros mismos, tener nuestros propios momentos a solas ya que para nadie es un secreto que la vida es dura y hay cosas que tenemos que resolver nosostros mismos. Uno de los límites que creo es bastante importante respetar y que creo que casi siempre no se cumple, es tener un momento para ti ya sea para descansar o después de una pelea con tu pareja poder pensar las cosas, casi siempre esto no sucede porque a veces la persona tiene a manipular emocionalmente con frases como : "No Puedo vivir sin ti", " Tengo que estar todos los días contigo" , " Si te vas a pensar me vas a dejar" , entre otras más, en mi opinión personal el estar solo un momento es importante para poder pensar con claridad y calmar los sentimientos que nos ciegan a tomar decisiones negativas e impulsivas.

Allowing yourself some space seems like a pretty important limit to me, not only to think about what to do after a fight or to rest, but we have to understand that a relationship is not your whole life, your life is made up of many activities, people and friendships which have their degree of importance, not only that, you also have your degree of importance.

El permitirte un espacio me parece un límite bastante importante no solo para pensar que hacer después de una pelea o para descansar si no que tenemos que entender que una pareja no es tu vida entera, tu vida está compuesta por muchas actividades, personas y amistades las cuales tienen su grado de importancia, no solo eso, tú también tienes tu grado de importancia.

And it is something healthy that both you and your partner should accept and apply, this helps relationships to get along better and thus be able to discover new ways to spend time with your partner and not fall into monotony. I believe that having someone in your life is synonymous with being "completely complete" before that person.

Y es algo sano que tanto tú como tu pareja deben aceptar y aplicar esto ayuda a que las relaciones se lleven mejor y así poder descubrir nuevas maneras de pasar tiempo con la pareja y no caer en la monotonía. Creo que tener a alguien en tu vida es sinónimo de estar "completamente completo ", antes de esa persona.

It is understanding that your partner already had a life before you, a structure which you must respect and vice versa, this way people can protect themselves from the emotional manipulations that sometimes happen from a partner, assimilating and understanding that love is a choice that you make every day ❤️

Es entender que tú pareja antes de ti ya tenía una vida hecha, una estructura la cual debes de respetar y viceversa, así también las personas pueden protegerse de las manipulaciones emocionales que a veces suelen suceder por parte de una pareja, asimilar y entender que el amor es una elección que haces todo los días ❤️

From my perspective, personal independence has always been a good thing, because before having a relationship, one as an individual has to be fulfilled in multiple aspects, that is something fundamental. And the Union in the relationship is also important, being united does not only mean showing love, it is more than that, it is a harmony that you have with the person, you unite and trust in their feelings for you, in what you are building, it is not only about trusting, it is about being empathetic, patient, there are many factors that involve the Union in a relationship and they are important for its functioning.

Desde mi perspectiva la independencia personal siempre ha Sido buena ya que antes de tener una relación, uno como individuo tiene que estar realizado en múltiples aspectos eso es algo fundamental. Y la Unión en la relación también es importante, estar unidos no solo significa demostrar amor, es más que eso, es una sintonía que tienes con la persona, te unes y confías en sus sentimientos por ti, en lo que van construyendo, no solo es confiar, es ser empático, paciente, son muchos factores lo que conlleva la Unión en una relación y son importantes para su funcionamiento.
