Obedience to God's will | The Old Path
As we deepen our walk with God, we start to see how crucial it is to do His will. Submitting to God's will is really the main focus of being a Christian. We need to be absolutely obedient when it comes to what God wants. No parent likes it when their child disobeys them. If we're God's children, then our obedience to His will should prove it.
Everything we do in God's name would be pointless if we ignore His will. We actually experience God's promises for our lives when we are completely obedient to Him. People who don't care about God's will are living outside of His plan.
Ecclesiastes 12:13: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
Following God's will isn't really an option; it's more like a duty. No matter where we are in life, keeping His commandments applies to all of us. We all have our own reasons why God sent us here, but we also have a common duty, and that's obedience to His will.
Matthew 28:20: "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Every single one of God's commandments given to us is important. None of them should be ignored. We shouldn't just do some and skip the rest. One of the reasons we should follow God's will is because it comes with rewards. We can't expect God to show up in our lives if we can't do what He says. That's why we should take God's will seriously.
It's our duty as believers to obey God's word and follow his will.
