I kinda thought uranium would be like gold, measured in ounces instead of tons.
haha yeah i get that mix-up, gold's all shiny and precious so ounces feel right, but uranium's this massive industrial beast - tons make more sense for the sheer volume
I thought uranium was very rare though. I know the ore comes in tons, but once it's refined, there isn't much pure uranium in the ore.
yeah you're right, the ore's mostly rock with tiny bits of uranium - refining pulls out way less than you start with, like 0.1% or something in typical deposits. still ends up in tons overall though
