but can you survive the tides
to grin you must have overcome the pain
after the rain the sunshine comes to reign
covering my loopholes but what of my footprints
because it has always been a marathon not a sprint
drowned in my thoughts while I meditate
it seems myself and hope got a date
how do I start on a clean slate
asking myself if fate and destiny are mates
I don't like to play a villain
but to my fears I love to do a killing

I really just wonder why distractions won't stop calling
