Five-Goal Show Was Exactly the Response They Needed

‎Going into this match, Senegal had no room for mistakes. After losing their first two games, they needed more than just a win, as they needed a convincing performance. I think it's fair to say they delivered that in style.Senegal's

‎The 5-0 scoreline might suggest it was an easy afternoon, but I don't think that's the full story. Senegal started brightly with an early goal, but despite Iraq going down to ten men, the first half was not as dominant as many people probably expected. Iraq stayed disciplined and made it difficult for Senegal to create clear chances.

‎But everything changed after the break.

‎Once Ismaila Sarr found the net, you could almost feel the pressure disappear. From that point on, Senegal played with much more freedom and confidence. The football became quicker, the movement improved, and the goals just kept coming.

‎For me, the biggest talking point was Pape Gueye. Coming off the bench and scoring twice is impressive on its own, but the quality of his goals made it even better. His second strike was an absolute rocket, and it's definitely one of the best goals I have so far seen in this tournament.

‎I also liked what Iliman Ndiaye brought after coming on. He looked sharp every time he had the ball, and his goal was the perfect way to round off a brilliant team performance. It's always encouraging when substitutes make such a big impact because it shows the squad has real depth.

‎I do feel for Iraq, though. Losing a player so early completely changed the game. They defended bravely for long spells, especially before halftime, but chasing the ball with ten men against a talented side eventually caught up with them.

‎What impressed me most about Senegal was not just the number of goals they scored, but it was the way they kept pushing until the final whistle. They understood that goal difference could be the deciding factor, and they never took their foot off the gas.

‎Now all eyes will be on the remaining group matches to see if this huge victory is enough to send them into the knockout rounds. If they make it through, they'll almost certainly face stronger opposition, but this performance should give them plenty of confidence.

‎Football has a funny way of changing the mood within a few days. After two disappointing results, many fans had started to lose hope. Now, Senegal have given themselves a real chance, and they have reminded everyone why they are one of Africa's strongest teams. It'll be interesting to see whether this performance marks the beginning of something special or simply ends up being a memorable final group-stage display.
