Break Is Over. Was There Any In The First Place?
It is common knowledge that as there is a head, there is definitely going to be a tail. Every up surely has a down (gravity being constant), every beginning surely has an end, every Friday has a Monday (and it doesn't waste time to come around) and every holiday/break surely has a resumption day.
Resumption is one word that students or employees don't want to hear because they are going back to their reality. Just like every other person out there, I planned some very healthy holiday activities and I saw it till the end. My own holiday outing ended when I finished the last naira I set aside for my "oblee". Yeah, I know that it was too soon but I couldn't help it because I saw somethings I needed and reached out for it. But that doesn't mean my holiday has ended. Yes the outing has but officially, we still have some days left. But was I really on break come to think of it. I have always said in my posts that I left Kwara to Lagos early this year but what actually brought me down wasn't said.
Well, let's just simply put that I came down to work. From the second I entered Lagos, I have been working. Both online and offline. Working online is something flexible but the major issue is the physical job that I got stuck with. I worked even on Christmas day and might also work come on the 1st. It is not that I am a workaholic but the thing there is that it's a promise I made and I don't like going back on my promises and it's for family. Yes, there are benefits to it but it's not easy waking up so early and coming back late because of the traffic on the road.
This here is also an avenue for staying away from reality because the work covers my feeding, transportation and any other work related expenses. So, technically, I am on vacation since I am away from my daily expenses (kinda). I will be going back to face my reality on the 18th of January 2025 where I will be going back to my business. Thinking of strategies to grow the business, devising plans to boost sales and start thinking of what to eat and how to cook again after hours of preparing meals for others, it is always war cooking my own meals and also putting my plans in motion. These are all my realities waiting for me when I return to Kwara.
But all my Christmas and New year activities end on the 4th with the Hive Lagos Hangout. No future experiences on outings, or anything relating to the festive season after this hangout. I'm also sure that most businesses will be fully back on the 6th, then the Lagos struggles will start with traffic, fighting for bus, being extra careful to avoid losing your phone at bus-stops amongst others. But heaven knows that I don't want this holiday to end but life has to keep happening.
Till then, I plan to enjoy my remaining holidays
In this coming year, what I will try not to forget is to live life and stop existing. A lot of plans will be put into the coming year, also set out plans to take a chill pill and not just waiting for the festive season to flex.

One never wants to let vacations end. This looks quite amazing to sleep, enjoy and relax. But we have to take care of our finances as well. It is not shrewd to enjoy leisure time with empty pocket and empty tummy. I don’t know what to say whether to congratulate you on getting back to routine or feel pity of leaving refreshing part of life😂
Just wish me success in both 😅😅
