The hardfork happened and nothing bad happened. The best possible news.
Whenever a hard fork occurs, whether it's here on Hive or anywhere else, I get nervous. It's like when an operating system update pops up. I don't know if it's because of past bad experiences, but I always tend to think something bad is going to happen. And after yesterday's Cloudflare incident, I'm even more nervous.

Luckily, everything seems to have gone well, although with these things, you always have to wait a few days to be 100% sure. I'm not going to get into technical matters that I'm not familiar with; there are already users much better prepared than me for that. But the important thing is that modifications are being made and implemented without too much drama.
The most important changes, from what I understand, are, firstly, that transaction capacity will be increased at a lower resource cost, as well as the speed. That should help dApps that work with Hive. And the other is a change in the weight of votes, which will now consume mana linearly, allowing for more realistic voting.
I've also heard that this will lead to lower inflation and lower user returns, but I'm not entirely sure about that. I hope Magic is also released and that all these changes can revitalize the chain. And I hope new dApps are released that make Hive much more useful.
