The danger of leaving power in few hands.
In this technological world, we're increasingly getting used to having our things concentrated in fewer hands, and this is very dangerous. This afternoon, I opened my laptop and half the websites weren't working. Cloudflare was down. Unfortunately, this is becoming all too common. Just a few weeks ago, it happened with Amazon Web Services (AWS), leaving millions of people unable to make payments or disrupting basic services like healthcare.

In neither case is it clear what the problem was, and we'll probably never know the truth, but what is clear is that citizens are becoming increasingly vulnerable. I know many will think I'm exaggerating because these problems are usually fixed in a few hours, but what will happen when it takes days or weeks? I think we're not aware of the consequences of this technological concentration.
Citizens have few options to avoid this since we can't choose our service providers. But the authorities can and should take measures to prevent such high concentration in these services. There should be more independent companies with different technologies that can support these services.
