Openclaw has become bloatware

Hermes was adopted — very aesthetic and clean

Migration is easy

Clarification: Hermes includes 11 model-specific tool-call parsers. It understands how Qwen, Deepseek, Llama, and Mistral format their tool calls natively. Openclaw does not parse those formats and relies on the API to handle them

As an example, a 9B model on a 3060 does not drop tool calls when run through Hermes — every tool call lands clean because the parser handles the model's native format, not just the API spec

The Openclaw founder joined OpenAI in February and the project was transferred to a foundation. Hermes is developed and maintained by NousResearch, an independent research lab that releases open-source models and tools for the community. Users can decide who maintains their agent framework

For those still on Openclaw, Hermes already includes a built-in migration script
