समुदाय के प्यारे सदस्यों को नमस्कार। मुझे आशा है कि आप सभी अच्छे होंगे और अपने प्रियजनों के साथ गुणवत्तापूर्ण समय का आनंद ले रहे है।

Village life is a little strange sometimes. On some days, you think about how wonderful it is to live in a place with no noise, beautiful views, and so much peace. But on other days, you find yourself complaining about walking on dirt roads under the scorching sun. I guess it depends on the day and how much walking you have to do.

गाँव की ज़िंदगी कभी-कभी थोड़ी अजीब लगती है। कुछ दिन आपको लगता है कि यहाँ रहना कितना अच्छा है। न कोई शोर-शराबा, चारों तरफ़ खूबसूरत नज़ारे और कितनी शांति है। लेकिन कुछ दूसरे दिनों में आप खुद ही तेज़ धूप में कच्ची सड़कों पर चलने की शिकायत करने लगते हैं। शायद यह इस बात पर भी निर्भर करता है कि दिन कैसा है और आपको कितनी दूर तक पैदल चलना है।

The other day, I was out walking, and the sun was quite strong. It was one of those days when you could feel the heat on your skin, even though the air around you felt surprisingly cool. As I walked along the road, I kept looking at the scenery around me. There is always something to look at when you are walking through the village, even if it is just a simple view of the road, the trees, or the hills in the distance. This time, I noticed a few wires running along the way.

कुछ दिन पहले मैं टहलने निकली थी और धूप काफी तेज़ थी। यह उन दिनों में से एक था जब धूप सीधे त्वचा पर महसूस होती है, हालाँकि आसपास की हवा में ठंडक थी। सड़क पर चलते हुए मैं अपने आसपास के नज़ारों को भी देख रही थी। गाँव में चलते समय देखने के लिए हमेशा कुछ न कुछ मिल ही जाता है, भले ही वह सड़क का कोई साधारण-सा दृश्य हो, पेड़ हों या दूर दिखाई देने वाली पहाड़ियाँ। इस बार मेरी नज़र रास्ते में लगे कुछ तारों पर पड़ी।

There were some crows sitting on the wires, making quite a bit of noise. I stopped to take a picture of them, but the moment I took out my phone, one of the crows flew away. The other one stayed there for a few more seconds before deciding to leave as well. So much for getting a good picture!

उन तारों पर कुछ कौवे बैठे हुए थे और काफी शोर मचा रहे थे। मैंने उनकी तस्वीर लेने के लिए अपना फोन निकाला, लेकिन जैसे ही मैंने फोन निकाला, उनमें से एक कौवा उड़ गया। दूसरा कुछ सेकंड तक वहीं बैठा रहा और फिर वह भी उड़ गया। अच्छी तस्वीर लेने की मेरी उम्मीद तो पूरी नहीं हुई ।

As I continued walking, a random thought crossed my mind. Crows are black, and I wondered if their dark colour made them absorb more heat from the sun. It was such a sunny day, and I was already feeling hot despite the cool breeze. I started wondering if those crows were feeling even hotter than I was while sitting there in the direct sunlight.

मैं आगे चलने लगी, तभी मेरे मन में एक अजीब-सा ख़याल आया। कौवे काले रंग के होते हैं, तो मैंने सोचा कि क्या उनके काले रंग की वजह से वे धूप से ज़्यादा गर्मी सोखते होंगे। उस दिन धूप इतनी तेज़ थी और मुझे खुद गर्मी लग रही थी, जबकि हवा ठंडी थी। मैं सोचने लगी कि क्या उन कौवों को भी वहाँ सीधे धूप में बैठे हुए मुझसे ज़्यादा गर्मी लग रही होगी।
