I took these pictures the day after it snowed for the first time. The sun came out and the snow was melting and the air had a chill that you can’t ignore. And the cats sensed it too. They always do.
मैंने ये तस्वीरें पहली बार बर्फ़ पड़ने के अगले दिन ली थीं। उस दिन धूप निकल आई थी, बर्फ़ पिघलने लगी थी, लेकिन हवा में ऐसी ठंड थी जिसे नज़रअंदाज़ नहीं किया जा सकता था। और बिल्लियों ने भी इसे महसूस किया। वे हमेशा कर लेती हैं।
Cats don’t like wet and cold. Very rarely some cats are okay with it.They stay away from it altogether if they can. As soon as the sun hit the balcony they were there, taking in the warmth, curling up, closing their eyes, and letting the warmth seep into them slowly.
बिल्लियों को गीलापन और ठंड पसंद नहीं होती। बहुत कम बिल्लियाँ ही इसे सह पाती हैं। अगर मौका मिले तो वे इससे पूरी तरह दूर ही रहती हैं। जैसे ही धूप बालकनी में पहुँची, वे वहीं आ गईं । गरमाहट लेने, सिमट कर बैठने, आँखें बंद करने और धीरे-धीरे उस गर्मी को अपने भीतर उतरने देने लगीं।
Long shadows fell from the railings onto the floor, while the hills in the distance were still wrapped in traces of snow. They looked at me for a moment, almost questioning why I wasn’t resting like them in the warmth. 😂😂
रेलिंग की लंबी छायाएँ फर्श पर पड़ रही थीं, और दूर की पहाड़ियाँ अभी भी थोड़ी-सी बर्फ़ थामे हुए थीं। वे मुझे देखकर ऐसे देख रहे थे, जैसे कह रहे हों कि धूप में लेटने की बजाय ये सब क्यों? 😂😂
They lay there, not moving much, just breathing, just resting. No need to rush to anywhere. Just basking in the sun as if it was a reward for having survived the cold night.
वे चुपचाप वहीं लेटे थे, न ज़्यादा हरकत, न कोई बेचैनी । बस साँसें और आराम। कहीं भागने की ज़रूरत नहीं थी। मानो ठंडी रात से बच निकलने के बाद धूप एक इनाम बन गई हो।
The sun feels extra special after a snowy day, and the cats know exactly how to enjoy it.
बर्फ़ के बाद की धूप कुछ ज़्यादा ही अच्छी लगती है, और बिल्लियाँ इसका पूरा मज़ा लेना जानती हैं।
